I've fallen victim to an ATM scam. I had all my savings drained from my account over the weekend. Hopefuly the bank will sort it out and I'll get it back.
It topped off a pretty crud weekend. It sucks not knowing many people in a new city.. It gets pretty fucking lonely!

That's fucking lame dude. Someone did that to me about 5 years ago (credit card not ATM) and it got sorted pretty quick. Are you going to the ball? Should be a good place to meet similar people.

I notified my financial institution of an unauthorised transaction. I waited the 40 business days as requested, then I received a letter in the mail to notify me that my pin was used to withdraw the funds, so therefore it had to have been me, and nobody had stolen my money.

I phoned up and spoke to this woman who could barely speak a word of English. I tried explaining to her all the details, and she kept butting in, and then eventually said "are you not satisfied with the content of the letter". Uhm.. clearly NOT!

I had to fight it, but eventually the funds were returned to me and I got this brief letter stating that.

What pissed me off the most, was that I was scammed at my local ATM, outside my own bank!

Moral of the story, be persistent with getting your money back.
