I just went through this with my ex bf...I'm not saying that she's in the right, but be careful..as you said 'nice guys finish last' and unfortunately a) they do, or b) they weren't nice to begin with!!! 
It's good to vent and seek revenge and play out who is in the wrong...but you need to find somebody that doesn't have to be your everything...because it's unhealthy. Get your shit together and then find somebody that brightens up an already pretty awesome you!!!
