Tonight was the Roller Derby banquet/awards (The Rollies). The Rah Rahs were invited for no apparent reason that I can ascertain. We all sat there, took full advantage of the free food and especially the free booze, but other than that, we weren't there for any reason. They were going through, thanking all of the volunteers, skaters, refs, stat army, fans....not even one mention for the cheerleaders until they called up all the volunteers and a couple Rah Rah hubbys gave us shit and told us to get up there, and the only reason we got a mention then was because we were all standing there looking at the derby president and she was like, "oh, yeah, and the cheerleaders". We got prezzies though. DDG bottle openers. Woo. It was cool though. I got a chance to actually meet some of the derby girls, danced a bit, shook my ass and whatnot. And got drunk for free. Bonus!
