Really crappy day today.
I work for a Boat Insurance company. So occasionaly I have to speak with people who need to file a claim on their boat.
Today I talked with a gentleman, that lost his grandson to a accident. His grandson invited his 3 friends out on his grandfathers boat, to cruise around Lake Michigan for the day. By all accounts the grandson was a experience operator of boats and had plenty of experience. As far as he could tell me..his grandson and friends decided to go swimming..and the boat drifted loose. His grandson drowned, a male friend is still missing..and the other two passengers were found alive..after being in the water for several hours.
You realize the fragility of life, and how at a moments notice all it can change. Plans, dreams, wants, and needs all seem so small and insignificant after something like this.
