People on the internet can be pretty stupid. Or perhaps I should say young girls with drinking problems on the internet are pretty stupid. There is a young gal...I guess she's 21 (or has a fake ID) who has started frequenting another board I visit. All she ever talks about is getting wasted and finally other members of the board have felt the need to say hey...you seem to have a problem here from the stories you tell us. to which she responds: "Oh yeah, I've had two interventions in the past year, but fuck that and fuck them I'm ok. They aren't my real friends blah blah"
She claims to drink anywhere from a bottle to 2 1/2 bottles of booze a day. She says that she doesn't have any health problems because of it and she'lll stop drinking when she does start to have problems.
So I sadi to her: do you take Tylenol or Ibeprophen?
She says: yeah all the time...after I drink or before a heavy night of drinking.
I said: well then you are causeing severe damage to your liver and stomach.
She's like: Huh? what are the "supposed" risks?
I explain the obvious: it's not supposed, it says right on the label that you should consult your doctor and or not take the drug if you consume more than 3 alchoholic beverages a week. and I provided her with a link that explained all the risks and how this can happen to people even if they aren't over abusing alchohol.
what does she say? She says she guess she'll just have to suffer through her headaches and not take any advil or tylenol.
spoken like a true alcoholic.
I know that people on the internet won't make her stop drinking, but I at least feel like I educated her a bit.
