fighting for what you believe in

Maybe Skyfire was right. Peace does not last forever, and you can't be a peacemaker forever either. Selfless people who always put others ahead of themselves will soon find themselves alone at the back of the line. I've been nothing but a gentleman for 26 years now and look at what it's gotten me, an empty house and an empty heart.
There is one that could fill this empty heart, but a battle to be fought there would be. A battle that could end in despair for more than one involved.
Do I continue to stay buried in the ice, hoping that someday, someone will rescue me?
Or do I try and fight for the hand and the heart of the one who has already begun to melt the ice...
