What is the solution?

The problem being: I wish to spend waay more time with my family and two of my best friends I have barely seen in months.

I suppose the solution to my family problem is pretty easy in fact. There are too many of them to schedule hanging out. So I will have to just go see them. When I have a few hours. Hanging out for a few hours when I have it will be a lot better than regretting not having much time to spend and then not spending any time at all.

My two homies, now that's a lil trickier.

One of them works all the time and has a zillion other people wanting his attention.

Wait a minute, that sounds just like me. Maybe it's a lame excuse. I guess I just need to call his ass more. More calling = more times he answers=more conversations=more hanging out=good.

So what's my grand excuse for not calling the girl I call my best friend in the whole world? Why would I not want to call her all the time even without much to say?

Maybe that's it. I feel I don't have much to say. Do we even have anything in common anymore? I'm sure we do. Just not with what we do in our free time I guess. I'm always at home smoking or reading or chilling by myself. She's always out and about with someone or another, always out on the weekend nights, always with a posse ready and activities planned. I don't want to tag along for these adventures, and I'm sure she doesn't want to sit at my house and watch us smoke.

THIS IS DRIVING ME INSANE! I love my friend. I want to spend time with her. I just am not seeing how. We don't have money to spend on 'doing stuff' so we just have to 'hang out'. But we never have time for just hanging out. There's always something more useful to be done with our time, or a bigger event planned to have fun at.

It seems diversion is more important than connection, although everyone protests otherwise.

Here's what my best friend had to say about my above post:

"bisnach! dude my life consists of mostly sitting on my as at either home or work, hello this is why i joined a gym! you know i will come sit on my ass at your pad alls you got to do is say when. and you know that your my ..1. And dude when have we ever had anything in common... has that ever mattered? umm no because we appreciate eachother for who we are. this is the beauty of or friendship. its not about, "oh my god i love that song too, and wow i think hes cute too were so the same he he he" its deeper yo. you inspire me bethany, you help me see things from a different set of lenses, this is why i love you (that and your exqusite sense of style). plus your the only chick i know that thinks like a guy, which is always helpful. were different patterns but we are made of the same damn cloth! you are the best, a special blend of flavor that has been discontinued, actually just one of a kind! hence the best in my best friend. doof give me a call!"

Wow. What can I say but how fortunate am I to have such a kickass friend?

I'm glad it worked out. I have the same worries with my friends from time to time, but they always surprise me with their radness.

Hi, by the way. Found your profile randomly.
