I've been on this one online dating site in one form or another for the better part of 5 years. I've gone on a few dates with a few nice ladies, very few of which provided much more then anything but a solid new friend, and maybe even a 2nd date. I've been pretty much single for 5 years, with 1 short lived girlfriend, and 1 woman that I dated for 2 years on-and-off who's now my best friend in the world. I'm not shy, I reach out quite a bit. Sometimes it leads to conversations, most times it leads to an empty inbox. I try and use this site (and one other, local-specific "lovelab") to reach out beyond my social circle.

I'm out a lot. I meet a lot of people. The things I do for a living require me to interact with lots of people and network in order to get work. YET, I feel like I have a need for a place like this.

I've got TONS of "matches" that are 90% or better. I've reached out to many of them, trying to strike up conversations. There are even a few women I've stumbled across on here that are basically perfect examples of the kind of women I'm trying to meet.

I'm beginning to think that women who are on dating sites arn't actually looking to date anybody.


in all honesty, this post is a result of the unfortunate combination of being cranky and being a bit more alone the last week or so..
