This weekend was so much fun! Last night I got to go bowling with all my buddies. So far I've gotten all kinds of silly cards and things for my birthday. I told everyone not to bring presents, but my friend Dennis gave me an awesome Tiger Army cd that is going to be the new soundtrack for my time in Houston. What could be more appropriate for driving around a sprawling industrial complex in Southeastern Texas than psychobilly? Nothing, I tell you.
Also, optimistress and daniel13 came, and they are the sweetest people ever! They gave me a gift certificate to Criminal Records, which I hope to put to good use before I leave next week. They rock! Thank you, sweethearts!
I had a lovely night at the bowling alley. I bowled so terribly that my brother was kind enough to bowl for me. He has these fancy-pants bowling shoes and a big green ball that has "Swamp Monster" engraved on it. We still didn't win! We did have fun, though, and afterward my friend Hector took us to MJQ's, where I anticipated dancing my ass off but thanks to the delicious slippery nipples I ended up leaving early and telling apologies all kinds of stupid shit on the way home. He was nice and didn't laugh at me too much, I think.
I did get to have Hector twirl me around Latin-style to a bunch of bossa nova set to beats. Yay!
Today I got to eat Chinese food naked on the floor and watch Harry Potter. Then I had to take Samantha to the vet, where she has to spend the night before her surgery.
Poor baby girl! I'll be with her for every minute of it tomorrow, though, so I know she'll be alright.
