Back to the drawing board...Valentine's Day was a disaster. It's alright, though, because I did manage to have a great night Sunday. I saw Coraline in 3D with the ever-lovely Alzy, had some yummy sushi and sake, hung out at one of my favorite bars, and had hot hotel sex with a stranger.
I have several huge bruises on my chest, my nipples are sore to the touch, and somehow, there's a large bruise between my shoulder blades. I like sex injuries.
Last night I saw an amazing show with my best friend at Le Poisson Rouge. We saw Fujiya & Miyagi and School of Seven Bells. I had no idea electronica could be so hot when played live...I didn't have a drop to drink because I was so tired and had the train to catch home, but I was getting all hot in spite of the hipster/mountain men. I decided that if your biggest concern is deciding where the "cool" place to travel is, I don't like you. There were way too many conversations going on around me and not enough dancing, because it was all hipster white folks. At least the music was great.
Tonight was tacos with the girls in spite of the nasty drizzle-ness and tomorrow a burlesque show/birthday party. I haven't figured out if I'm going to be able to see Cronenberg's Crash on the big screen this weekend but I really, really want to. It's nice to have such fanastic distractions. I think I've way overspent this week, but I can eat pb & j's for weeks if it means having this much fun.
Two things I like about this band:
1) I've never heard a singer repeat a band's name so frequently.
2) The singer loves to roll his r's and also to do this sort of panting thing that reminds me of Halo by Depeche Mode (in all it's awesomeness).
Of course, I have to mention that Coraline was deliciously creepy art porn.
It was so worth it to see in 3D, and I could watch it over and over for the visual effects alone. I loved Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders in it! Big-boobied crazy old dog ladies rock!

You ought to hit those museums! MOMA's free after 4 on Fridays. But I hope your date isn't quite that cheap.
