Overall I had a really nice trip to New York. I got to see my godparents, my ex roomie (who's really like my brother we're so close), a good old friend from Atlanta, and some very lovely New York people. I accomplished my goal for the trip: I got a job at a specialty/emergency veterinary practice. They're opening a satellite office in Queens in late November/early December, so it looks like that's what I'll be up to at the end of this year. My interview Monday went really well. When I toured the facility and saw some of the patients waiting for treatment I felt like I was back where I belong. I worked in veterinary hospitals for 5 years, and I've been missing it!

I've only really lived outside Atlanta for one year before, when I lived in Houston with my dad a few years back. I had a rough time-I became intensely homesick for all the trees and hills here in Atlanta (my dogs and my family may have had a little bit to do with it, too).blush As much as I love to travel, I do get homesick when I'm away for long periods, like the times I've been in Brazil for 5-6 week stretches. I figured if I have to be that far away from the people I love, it might as well be in a city that offers constant stimulation (as well as better opportunities for work, school, and my occassional creative outbursts).

Maybe when I move up there I'll be able to go to sleep at a decent hour.blackeyed

I really want to post Morphine's Let's Take a Trip Together (I've now moved on from The Smiths' Meat is Murder to Morphine's Cure for Pain on repeat), but there isn't a video for that one, and of course, if there was a video, the fabulous Martin Gore wouldn't get any face-time in it, unlike in this gem:
