Great weekend...I worked my ass off and met up with one of my favorite people, Llona (I really mean that) and a friend I saw earlier last week in NYC (happy surprise). We had drinks until the wee hours Saturday night and I brought some good bread, cookies, and best of all: chocolate croissants. I'm so rich in food working at this bakery, but somehow...

This is hilarious: stuff white people like.biggrin

School's fantastic. I'm so happy my break is over...I was missing school hardcore. I made lots of good food and tried to paint a bit, but the best part was a night out dancing with a good girlfriend. I needed that! I also got to see The Diving Bell and The Butterfly, which was one of the...

hehehe... ive seen that site before. its hilarious.

i'm in Sao Paulo. Cultural heart of Brazil. i've been to Salvador only once, last year, for work. It rocks.

wink

xoxo
dragonchild92:
In fact, I was born in Salvador, but I raised on the countryside of Bahia state. You know, Salvador is the capital city of bahia, but I have living here for 12 years, it's quite nice, but Bahia is better because people there is so friendly (more than here), but between Rio and Sao Paulo, I prefer Sao Paulo, is more cultural, more rock'n' roll.
When you come here, it will be nice to talk.

It's beautiful outside! The sky is clear and blue and our neighbor boys are playing football in the yard. I have some friends coming over later to walk the dogs to the park close to my house and have dinner. I made some barbecue sauce for a free-range chicken I'm roasting, fresh coleslaw, and green chile cornbread. I think for dessert I'm going to make...

i really need to be around up there long enough for us to hang out.

and watch your neighbor boys play football.
_biblia_:
i really wanted the doggie sushi toys. but they were tiny-- my dog would have them destroyed in less than five minutes.

Why do I meet the best men when I'm trying my best to NOT date anyone? Apparently that's the way life works, and I've just been in denial about it for a while.

School's fabulous. I'm in the middle of what will most likely be the easiest semester of my academic career, which is great because I get to focus on actually enjoying it and...

I'm not in a salon. I'm actually a sales consultant to the co. that supplied my old salon. still not sold on being a salesperson.

The boys have made friends and moved ok but the schools were very different and the county we moved from was apparently below the level of te one we're n now. so, it's been tough in the grade dept.

CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE: MARI'S LIFE

OPTIONS:

1.) Stay in Atlanta, move out of comfy condo and into Mom's house. Effectively end sex life. Struggle to attend school while dealing with family issues. Spend lots of time with dogs and Brazilian grandmother learning to cook.

2.) Move in with dad and new stepmom in Houston. Go to school. Living expenses paid for; work part-time to...

for what it is worth . . . i vote for number 4. i would hate to see another friend move from atlanta to somewhere else.
misha:
Well, I am definitely a spontaneous, let'smovetoeurope kind of person, so if you were me, I would chose option 3. HOWEVER, I think you should chose option 4, because I just met you and I want to get to know you. So don't run away yet! Plus, ATL is the bomb, why would you ever want to leave???

Yesterday my family celebrated my mama's 50th birthday at a Brazilian churrascaria with a bunch of her oldest friends. It was fantastic to see her so happy and to see people that played with me when I was little, or whose kids I played with when we were little. We ate good feijoada and other good Brazilian dishes, and there was a guy with a...

Pedro Almodovar is such a genius. I saw Bad Education (the Spanish title is so much sexier: La Mala Educacion) the other day and got all hot and bothered. Gael Garcia Bernal and some hot Spanish actor making out...it doesn't get much hotter as far as boy-on-boy action goes. Yum.smile Of course the film also contains the usual Almodovar trademarks: always brilliant use of vivid...

My new dog tried to attack me when I was trimming his nails the other night. He's a beautiful white husky mix, and is normally a sweetheart, but something wasn't to his liking and he let me know. The problem is, I can't tolerate acts of aggression from a dog. Sherlock's the quintessential submissive dog-when I accidentally hurt him he shreaks like a girl and...

I'll cross my fingers for him too. It would be sad to find out that he just won't work out for you...

Things have been busy. J and I got hitched in September and then had a reception back home in October. Started my masters in biology in May, so that's also keeping me busy. Other than that, it's same old. wink

And you?

my family used to raise huskies. they are super sweet on a regular basis but they can definitely act like beasts sometimes. miao!!

I had a one-night stand with NYC this past weekend, followed by an awkward second night in a gaudy hotel room (Esther Williams-themed room, anyone?).blackeyedlove

I tried to come home Sunday night because of some sad family issues, but I ended up stuck in the city with some great people. Things could have been so much worse; I'm so indebted to a couple of people...

I was terminally bored just a couple of weeks ago, but now that's all changed.

I ordered a ton of Murakami novels & books on the brain from Amazon to keep me occupied, and I also decided to buy a condo with my brother. My brother's a real estate agent, so he's taking care of most of the complicated details, but I do have to...

I'm going to take a little break from SG because I have some things I need to take care of at home and I'll be starting my new job tomorrow. I just don't have much to say lately, because all of the emotions and experiences that are having any sort of significant impact on my life are a bit too personal for me to write...
