went back to the studio last night to put down one more cello track and then mixdown time. got on a phil elvrum trip and now there's this great super-wet tom-tom beat that comes in on one of the songs. echo-y drums + present girl voice is so captivating. it's makes the singing tha tmuch more initmate. makes the girl seem simultaneously very powerful and vulnerable -- she's whispering in your ear amidst those big looming drums. is she controlling the drums? are they threatening her? it's unclear. I love it.

still feeling shitty, but dealing with it better. don't know what it is. I'm usually l'il miss ok cola.
