So yeah....

Interesting occurance this weekend. I got to see some folks that I used to sing A cappella with in college and yeah...apparently everyone's getting married. I think I was the only returning alumni not engaged or in a serious relationship. Being single isn't what bothers me...

It was finding out the rediculously attractive girl that you always wanted to date but never got...

So yeah....still doing 'research' on what i'd like to get for a tattoo. I'm currently thinking something of an asian flair maybe because of my martial arts...but we'll see. I'm still looking for any comments or suggestions anyone out there may have regarding me getting my frist tattoo.

So I was randomly looking through things on my hard drive and found a poem I wrote...

i have a plan that i follow when i want to get a tattoo that works pretty good for me. when i get an idea i like i wait three months and if i still like the idea i start saving up for it. if i still like the idea three months later i go for it, and if not, well then you are sitting on some cash that you can spend elsewhere!

It was great to get a bit more sleep than I did yesterday. Got up and did some gaming and then got to work out for a couple of hours.

Working on my kung fu fighting is always a fun time. No seriously, 'I know kung fu' wink

i got my ink after pondering for a long time about what was meaningful to me. Then I waited longer to come up with designs I like.

On my right bicep I have a jewelled lotus (shades of greens and lavenders) with the word Buddha in Sanskrit above it. It is my favorite teaching.

On my left bicep I have a phoenix from the flames. This symbolizes a closing of a phase of my life, and the start of a new phase.

On my left wrist I have a bracelet with more Buddhist symbology, again about a chapter in my life.

I have decided to get the word "faith" on my inner right forearm and "courage" on my inner left. This decision took a few years to make.

All these took a long time to decide because I didn't want to get something trendy or something out of a catalog that everyone else has (you know, the daisy above my ass-crack). They are personal, they symbolize important stages of self-discovery, and they are beautiful. I suggest that you wait to get inked until your design meets those three criteria.

Also, check around and look at artist's work before you commit to someone. If the style of what you want doen't match the style that they do best, find someone else.

Hope that rambling helped smile Think about it, but have fun with it.
