so here's a fun update:

Just passed my belt test tonight....one more test and i'll have my black belt which would be awesome. It'd essentially be the culmination of a 6-7 year journey spanning two school and one year of complete dissalusion with the art.

I also heard back from a boarding school I applied to for a teaching/coaching position and the director of hiring wants to talk to me more about the position. So that would be very very awesome to work there because well, it'd be a job that I'm sure I'd have a great time with.
