[J] came in to town today. We went to Gordon Bierch (or whatever). Then, we trekked around town talking drug philosophy & pseudo-religion + politics. I've had a great time. It's so nice having a friend in town - someone I know, and feel comfortable with; a person who I've no question of their motivation. To what extent you'll understand I know not; but the friendship I feel with him is an un-oligated, free association type that has no reason to be anything beyond an association simply for the pleasure of the other's company.

In some aspects of life I've felt deprived. Today, I feel like I would be unable to have this friendship if it weren't for the detached situations I've experienced for most of my life.
