I think you should go if you can. I went all by myself, with no understanding of the language at all. Yes I was scared and a little terrified, but only for a little while. Japan is amazing. Everything is so clean, at least the parts I saw. They treat americans well. Traveling alone is one of the best experiences I've ever had and I went to two different countries in one summer (alone). You will learn more about yourself then you can imagine and you will conquer your fears of traveling alone. If you can go for it kiss

andromeda just took the words right out of my mouth. it IS totally frightening, and a million things could go wrong, but they could go wrong even if you had a travelling companion...and you'll be surprised how quickly you get the swing of travelling alone. especially since you've already got tickets...GO!!!

well, think about it like this-it's only for three days. then you have four days to recover before you have to start all over. granted it's three days of getting up and getting to work before the sun starts to peek over the horizon. followed by twelve hours of sitting, staring at the same computer. only to go home after, and get ready to do it all over again the next day. but at least you get to use your days off to go to school!
