i went to gen-con and spent more time in the strip club 2 blocks away from our hotel room than i did at the convention. am i losing my geek cred? wait, don't answer that....

on the plus side i scored a sweet deal on cases of miniatures for a game i play. biggrin
nopantsdave:
Don't think of it as losing geek cred so much as it's gaining perv cred.....

Lunch first tomorrow? Maybe meet up at that Asianish place near your house (I don't remember its name) around 12:30ish and then head on down to the bookstore?

How's that little Potter kid? And how was the release party?

Weird, I've been going through something similar food-wise. In the last two weeks I think there's only been one day that I ate more than one meal.

I need to go to Lowry's sometime soon. Maybe the next Sunday I have off. I have some books that I don't need to have anymore. And, maybe, just maybe, I might find something there that I want.

What, you don't enjoy having all your face sweat collect in your beard until it reaches critical mass and starts dripping out the bottom? Summer is awesome beard weather.

in this proud land we grew up strong
we were wanted all along
I was taught to fight, taught to win
I never thought I could fail

no fight left or so it seems
I am a man whose dreams have all deserted
I've changed my face, I've changed my name
but no one wants you when you lose

don't give up

A girl I work with is from there and used to work at the Hungry Howie's....she told me the other day.

I was just going to give it to you. Tom probably would have only given me $1 at the very, very most. So, it's yours if you want it and I will accept nothing for it.
oninotaki:
I heard rumors that you got a cell, but I thought they were just that rumors, like you know big foot lol

June 5th Bethesda(who now own all rights to fallout aside from an mmo which interplay still has the rights too) will be showing something on their fallout 3 website. For now you can just go to the site, see some concept art and hear some music. I am excited but cautious as I dont like most of what bethesda makes.

6 month recap: house and property paid off, beta testing an online game, started eating right and exercising again, went to a concert and severly bruised my hip, bought a kick ass bike.

that is all.

Things are going well, busy, but I can't really complain.....

How do you like the new CLUTCH?
evanx:
I don't think it sounds that much like the last one. No more similar than Blast Tyrant to Robot Hive. I think they've taken the southern rock/bluesy elements of RH and expanded on them. I however, like the original version of One Eye Dollar much better. I wish they would not have redone it.

wow, it's been over a month since my last post.

hmm nothing to write about. life is good so i'll just make a statement.

No Patton yet. I picked up a copy of The Faerie Queene by Edmund Spenser. I had been meaning to read it for awhile, so I started in on it right away. I've been plugging away at it for over two weeks now and I am only about two thirds of the way through. It's very, very slow, but I suppose it will be worth it when it's all said and done.

Other than that...I'm all right. I'm just working and reading. I've been going bowling a lot since I finally got my new ball drilled. Nothing else to report, really. I haven't heard from Tiffany in over three weeks, but, to be fair, I have made absolutely no effort to contact her either.

I have seen the Burning Beard video with Clutch preaching to the Robot Church! biggrin

Did you read Manchurian Candidate yet? I just finished it yesterday morning. Good fucking book, but I suppose that isn't too shocking. Thankfully when I imagined the people in my head they were Sinatra, Harvey, Lansbury, et al instead of the new cast.

There were "buy war bonds" posters in the library and the bank.....maybe they were there to show that this wasn't just some random small town in an indetermined time period. Those solidify it as being during the war. So, maybe you're on to something.

what a week at work surreal all kind of machine problems. i have a weeks worth of work make up. my job is that far behind. also, we had an emplyee seriously hurt. he fell off of a work platform on a machine ( he fell through a gap in the safety railing ) and landed on a metal bar below. 5-7 fractured ribs and a...

We're going up to Saginaw tomorrow night (see current journal for reason). Tiffany has to work at 1, so we'll have to be back here by noon or so. I wouldn't mind going to Lowry's, so maybe I'll just drop her off here and then head down there a little after noon. That would put me at your place somewhere just shy of 1. Unless you either want to meet me at Lowry's or skip Lowry's and I can pick you up afterward. As long as we're on our way back up here by 2ish, we'll be fine. I'll tell Chris to just meet us at the theater if he is still coming.

Sound good?

Damn, you changed your journal before I had a chance to comment on your pretty skirt!

I don't hate Seven Samurai. It's not one of my favorite by him, but I appreciate it as a masterpiece and a classic. Ultimately I just couldn't pass up the set. It's beautiful. Comes with a booklet full of essays, a full disc full of documentaries, a couple of commentary tracks and the packaging just looks pretty. It's a great set.

mmmm kilt on manly man. so great.
