First and foremost: You read my damn mind. Batman is the coolest hero out there. The only one without powers, and has a dark past to boot. Plus, while the other so called "heroes" are out fighting lame supergeniuses etc, Batman is taking on deranged psychopaths. And it's never all about him but everyone gets their part. Come on, you've got Catwoman AND Harley Quinn!

Rant aside, can't give good advice on the tat. I'm too nervous to get something tiny done on myself. But make sure your brother is absolutely sure about wanting you to design the ink, and that he should understand that it may not be perfect.

OOh, I read Fahrenheit 451. It will probably be another short read for you, but it has an interesting concept or two nonetheless. If you want an amusing read, check into A Clockwork Orange (just because the slang is fun to learn, heh.)

I heard all the same shit about school, and it all works out. I guess I was a late bloomer but I didn't want a crap degree with a c-average that would have got me nowheres. so I took ten years off, moved around, pursued art & music, read a lot. when I finally figured out what I wanted and how education could get me there I went back, got great grades and had a worthwhile experience. do what you like, keep on, stay up, take care, SW

What makes science more credible is that when it comes down to it at the end of the day, religion is more myth based than science. Scientists atleast put forth the effort to give conclusive reasoning behind their statements, whereas anyone can open up a bible and find sections to back their points up. And like you said, scientists realize that they may be in fact wrong. On a forum I post at, there was a Christian guy trying to disprove anyone that questions his religion, but did so by basically saying he KNOWS he is right and that anyone who disagrees is going to hell.

Which is why those with spirtitual emphasis seem better. We can't be certain about what lies after this life, but instead of preparing for that day why not improve yourself and help make those around you happy?...nah, let's grab our "Get Outta Hell Free" passes while we can.

Depression's a hard one to deal with and parents always want to believe their children are happy. It's like a guilt thing, they usually feel they must have f*cked up somehow if their children aren't always able to cope with life. I've dealt with depression all my life. Psychological as oppose to clinical (that's a whole new world of issues!) and have done the whole contempleting ending it all, taken the 'happy' pills and done the counselling thing. Counselling was the only thing that worked for me. Nowadays I'm annoyingly chipper but I still have bad days. Always will. One of those things. Go and talk to someone not involved or emotionally attached to your life. Best way forward from my experience.
