Yes, we'll have a Poetry day entry but that can wait for the moment. The past couple of days have been...good. confused

Wednesday was an exercise of travelling to visit those lately unvisited... The fair Elbereth and I travelled to visit the recouping King_Of_Skulls. We caught good coffee, nice shade & an accompanying breeze and the sight of many chicas passing to and fro. biggrin I...

"Theme From The Black Hole" by Parliament

A toast to the booty
Feel that, do that
For how else can you capture a boogie
If you don't attack from the back
To the rear, march!

My name is the one
Some people call me the funk
Here's a toast to the boogie!
Said my name is the one
Some people call me the funk, oh!...

Dude, hanging with you and your girl yesterday was just plain awesome. Just what the doctor ordered minus the alcohol and plus the smokes biggrin
Sorry that my mind wandered the way it did, but damn, you got to admit the chick at starbucks was just plain righteous. I cant wait to hang out again soon, i am thinking that once i get all this crud of work/illness/finances behind me, i will be hosting quite a few events in my little cottage by the street.

Much love, give me a call when you get settled. Oh, how did westport go?

Peace,

Huzzah for life's interruptions and the fruit therein! I woke this morning to find that SBC DSL subscribers in Connecticut (such as myself) were without service. I tried dialing up as well & nothing, as well. I called their tech support line and received a recorded message reporting of the regional problem and yes, they were already aware of it. So, rather than chew at...

My world right now consists of nursing a headache w/ 2 Advil Liqui-gels, kneeding the base of my neck w/ my knuckles and cracking open the first of a couple beers. blackeyed Work was long...a client of mine popped another fellow in the head do to jealousy, of all things. confused Everyone was fine afterwards but it took a while to verbally smooth out rather ruffled feathers....

Thank you for participating in my question session.kiss As for doing another one again if I do I will make sure everyone just gets one question. Plus what are the chances I will get all new questions again? I hate to be repetitive. Who knows. It was a good idea though. Everyone should do it at one point or another. I think it's a good way to get to know someone a little better.

I'm still sick so I have a monster headache from all this sinus congestion too. blackeyed

At work I was hit up to make some schedule concessions to aid a guy I work with. I normally work 4 to 4.5 days a week but, they're normally scattered a bit...a couple of days here, another day there. A deal was brokered that way I can have off 3.5 days off in a row. I then hold 3-4 office hours for paperwork shuffling,...

Hello all! Today has been one of the nicer days off in memory... It's been spent doing nothing but bumming around town, drinking and having spontaneous barbeques. biggrin

I met up w/ AmazonRed13 earlier for coffee at Willoughby's. Rather than sit on their rather shaded outdoor seating, we moseyed to the yard of Cass from Studio Zee. We drank Mandelhing, caught up w/ one another and...

My sources of busybodyness of the past 48 hours:

-Aiding my mother move furniture and overwhelming amounts of housework... My emphysema-ailing grandmother is moving in w/ my parents today. It's a move that everyone but my grandmother herself was expecting. She's landed herself in the hospital 3-4 x's within 6-8 months by undermedicating herself. Now she'll be in a separate section of their house w/...

Were you taking pictures of your clothes? For, like, insurance purposes or something? I have a little army shoulder bag I keep my camera in, so it has a safe place to be when it leaves the house. Otherwise, it would be long gone.

Sounds like a fun evening...I love those situations that take on an unexpected life of their own, and guide you along unexpected paths. they're usually the most memorable of times, and the most relaxed.

W,
Thanks for commiserating about my shoulder. Sorry to hear you didn't have fun at last week's Flux; I'm angling toward going this week because I'm pretty certain I can't go next week. But as always, it'll be a game-time decision.

This weekend was great, wasn't it? Those evening stroll/bar crawls are the best; NH is good for that, Milford's good for that, SoNo is good for that, Stamford (occasionally) is good for that. Glad you had a good time.

Good luck with your grandmother (granted, you're not living there, but I'm sure you'll be called on to help out).

Happy Friday! Today has been wonderful so far... The weather has hit it's peak for the season or, at least this far in. Incredibly sunny and in the low to mid 60's. biggrin I don't have to report back to work until Sunday at 9am & I'm ready to relax aggressively as possible. wink

Tomorrow night I've booked plans to hang out w/ my good friend Lisa......

W, how did you like Mystic River? I've been absolutely awful about seeing movies in theaters the past 2 years (I did venture out and see Reloaded and Revolutions, and Old School, however). I just never got off my ass to go see it, though I wanted to. Missed KB v.1 in theaters, too, but I just picked up the DVD.

Sorry to hear Elbereth's under-the-weather. Damn, that meal you're cooking up sounds good! biggrin
gumbercules:
Mystic River is rather wonderful. Great directing and acting. Mr. Robbins deserved that Oscar.

Yeah, the studio is rather silly. Everything I record on it sounds like it's about to collapse at any minute...the sheer joys of using a lot of older analogue equipment.

And the dogs live up to their names...ones a complete showman, and the other is an unlimited supply of free energy.

Enjoy your weekend, and do what it takes to get Elbereth feeling all bright eyed and bushy tailed again! wink

Again another case of being unsure if I'd ever posted this poem before... One of these days I'll figure out a clever way to track that. whatever Hope your Hump Day is tolerable. wink

dangling lightning like callous fingers...

oh my goodness me - you did not bring me down at ALL. in fact, you just gave me a fit of giggles! now i have these two mental images so that every time i get droopy i can think on such things. i believe this one fall under the 400 lb. chest sitter category. it makes me think of henrietta hippo from the new zoo review - sitting on my chest, threatening me with an extended social call.

in fact, i think its quite literally that, considering the quarts of sonic phlegm (sex-ay) i awoke spewing like old faithful, it must actually be the malaise that comes with sickness. you know how not having a cold makes you happy? i think this would qualify as NOT happy. although, ironically, now that i know its sickness, i feel much better.

i like it very much when you extend thoughts - its always enlightening and entertaining. seriously - i learn from you. biggrin

This is the hardest it's rained in what short-term memory I have left... tongue Intersections are flooding, there's the persistent white noise of water sheeting into the window screens, splashing of cars and drenched pedestrian victims left at the gutter. My body hadn't acclimated to this being a Springtime event... It expects to still bundle up in the upcoming weeks. Gladly, it's not so. I'll be...

The group home's Easter Sunday has been sucessfully put to bed... I had some major concerns that today was going to end w/ either residents or staff ending up bloodied and limping severely. Of the four residents there, two have been under close supervision due to particularly random occurences of extreme violence.

Since those guys have such heavy communication impariments, sometimes the only way they...

sounds like you had rewarding holiday, while safely dodging a left-of-center family function. and you got to feed geese. gotta love those wacky get togethers, though. they can make any holiday a...special one. i successfully hid from the whole easter thing, and am happy to report that i escaped unscathed. now it's on to late tax filing for me, where a painless escape may not be so forthcoming...
joshof13thfloor:
Damn, and i thought my Easter was an active one. I would have given good, hard, cold cash to dodge the bullet that was my families get together. Thank goodness the only time i have to put up with them is at select holidays and funerals.

It is extremely admirable in my opinion that you can successfully work with those who have special needs. My proverbial hat is off to you for showing compassion to those who so sorely need it. Too many are the times when people who are put in your place abuse those that they are there to help.

Peace.
