nothing crazy interesting going on, I suppose. but then, I don't update this thing near enough because I am rather mondaine about my day to day. If I were to wait around for earth-shattering events, however, it'd NEVER get updated, huh?

sooooooooo. anyway. the last few days. My mother was in town over the weekend to visit for her mother's 79th birthday. a great gathering...

this is getting ridiculous. the rain I mean. I think we've had almost the full year's worth of rain and it's only mid June. it's pouring again...off and on. had one of those moments of just torrential downpour while standing in blazing sunlight.

spent yesterday negotiating with bureaucracy. Went in the morning to get a new military ID card made. I had gotten a new...

nothing much. just getting ready for another 13 hour day at work, eating some fabulously sugary ceral with pecans, drinking coffee, and watching The Cure videos.

Ico is sleeping on the modem again. he likes how warm it is. I'd really like to go back to bed.

so it's drill weekend and everyone spent the day doing administrative paperwork and crap to get ready for our two week annual training next month. everyone, that is, except my little group of about eight guys. Us, plus a few others added in...headed down to Lockhart, Texas at their invitation to be a part in some small annual parade that they have. It's one of...

Wow what a day! I've experienced small towns like that, but not from the point of view of a hero. wink

I hope your sunburn doesn't peel!
drake:
My boyfriend's house in Essex will be the home base, but we'll be taking the train around the country to visit my family. I am stoked because I've never been on a train before, even though everybody's telling me "I know how you're imagining the train, and it's not really like that anymore."

Whatevs.

It was nice to have a shortened week with the Memorial Day off. Still managed to work a little over 50 hours (and bill 62 sssshhhhhh) smile

a lot of running around yesterday, taking care of all the errands that I wasn't able to do during the week. It was nice just to be out on the bike, even though it was mostly in-town riding. TONS...

Thank you, Sir. And I am 34... Ancient in SG terms, I know. But I was punk before Hot Topic even existed.

Boo-Ya!

a heavy downpour has nixed my plans for a holiday weekend motorcycle ride to the river or hill country. so, instead I have the music cranked up loud and I am drinking Montepulciano in a cracked wine glass and cleaning up the apartment a bit. Ico is helping as best he can by attacking my feet and running about like a madman.

Watched The Proposition...

You think those pants look crazy, you should've felt them! They were velvet. The best pants ever. I have no idea where they are now. But I no longer party, so I'd have no reason to wear them. Ahh, I miss being 21 sometimes.

And your kitty -- ridiculously cute smile
nic:
Nice kitty smile

I haven't ready Only Revolutions yet as I'm trying to get inspiration for some horror stories so I'm contemplating re-reading House of Leaves again.

And I never really went away, I was just being real, real quiet.

Working 60 plus hour weeks with trips home to visit family on the weekends. I feel like I haven't really had a day to rest for a while. and then this weekend I get to go to drill and dress up in desert camo and run around....huzzah. I probably enjoy it. If I didn't actually enjoy being in the Marines, I wouldn't still be doing...

woken out of a deep sleep at 3am for no good reason. for a couple minutes I was pissed, thinking I had to get back to sleep for a couple hours before I woke up for work....then I realized it was Saturday...so I guess it's not so bad.

Yeah, why doesn't eH have questions like "On a scale of one to seven, how important is being able to talk about New York's lack of booty with your gay man friend while high on xanax and tarot cards at his divorced mom's house?"

Because that's a SEVEN! TEN FOUR BUDDY.

Link fixed!

Saturdays rock. Damn shame they have to end.

Are you CONUS?
