I was describing my sister's lack of a sense of direction to a friend of mine, and I said, "She couldn't find ugly in a trailer park."

It was one of those moments when something was just linguistically perfect, like I've been kissed on the forehead by my muse or something. I gave myself a big metaphoric pat on the back for that one.

I had a dream today that I was running, and it was such an absolute fucking joy to run that I slept through the alarm for half an hour. Then when I woke up, I was kind of sad.

So I went to the doctor yesterday for chronic foot pain, and it seems I've been walking around on a fractured bone for a month and a half... which either means I have an incredibly high tolerance for pain, or I'm incredibly stupid.

Anyway, now I have a lovely walking splint and a prescription for painkillers. Woo!

Only if you have a fetish for freakishly long toes. Since the initial injury happened at the end of October, most of the gruesome bruising and swelling has healed already. I do, however, have some dandy scarring on the other foot from third degree burns I got about 8 years ago, if you've got some sort of scar fetish.

I don't have a digital camera though. Poo. frown

I've been trying to convince my doctor that she ought to cut my feet off and replace them with robotic rollerskates. That would be kickass.

I don't have it yet either, but I hear it's fan-freakin-tastic. You can order it from www.smokecds.com, who are relatively reasonably priced and prompt on shipping. That's where I get most of my NZ music. Real Groovy, though they have a better selection, has higher cd prices and will fuck you in the ass with international shipping. Lack of funds, and the misguided hope that someone else will buy it for me for christmas, have kept me from purchasing it thus far.

I'm currently writing the words portion of a picture book about edible gingerbread aliens, and it's so hard to get any work done because it so consistently cracks me the fuck up. Not that I'm saying I'm a fantastic writer or anything. I'm just easily amused.

I would love to see a copy of that book sometime. Sounds cool! I'm easily amused too and could do with a break from political theories sometime, edible gingerbread aliens sounds like just the ticket. wink
