This is true, but for some kids it really can be said that they need to be put on something. Not being able to focus or having intense spurts of energy aren't really normal childhood behaviors. I'm sorry you had a horrible experience when you were younger though. This documentary sounds interesting. Might have to catch it sometime.

As well as the child's mind is still developing and is vulnerable to being influenced by any number of things in the process.
