I was thinking about police chase scenes within movies. . .

Can officers take civilian vehicles in persuit of criminals?

Does anyone know if this situation has occured in real life?

In addition, will driver/municipal insurance cover damages to the vehicle ?

I know it. I don't know what it is other than, I get on a phone and don't ever know what to say. Never been too good at the phone thing. Sorry. The cake was a bit much.....not bad though.
