It felt like the Burgundy Room betrayed me last night.... I arrived relatively on time, attempted street parking but a couple film shoots in the area forced me into a nearby lot. My favorite bartender wasn't there, and the replacement just wasn't cutting it. Then after the first drink, the Guinness tap ran dry. Not just dry, but they were out. The bar ran out...

Thanks Trilo. At this point it's not even just about a studio, it's about someplace OTHER than where I am working, LOL.
What kind of job are you looking to hook into? I always try to help people out if I hear of something (that I am not going to take

Work work work... a few good creative ideas brewing, but it seems that by the time I finish with work there's not enough motivation or energy to get them anywhere.
Anyways, life could be worse so I won't complain. Interesting things going on that could lead to even more interesting things, all I can do is try to be optimistic.
So I'm still all excited...

Is "he can fix things" a metaphor for something?
actually no, he's an electrician and competant at all kinds of household repairs. but damn you for putting that in my mind!

My Sunday was good - hung out with some good friends, one of those things that's fun without necessarily being eventful.
Saw the movie 21 Grams. I didn't care for it, I thought it was edited badly, the story was weak, and that the direction could have been better. Great performances, though, and I liked the director's trick where the picture got grainier as the...

I rewound for a while, but then decided that I want one regardless.
So most of my day wound up being spent on resurrection. It finally took around 11pm. Should have known better, seriously. Worked on a couple things yesterday, but largely got nothing done. I found a very rare childhood pic, check out my pictures section - I'd be the little bastard on the far left. Look closely and you can probably make out all the crayon...

My demons are all on leashes now, have been for a while. I exercise them regularly. They're sitting around laughing at me tonight though, because they don't have to do any work... Hee.

Book III, Chapter VII
Trilo's Deep
The enemy was ten thousand strong, the men and elves defending the stronghold were few. Wave after wave of drinks made their way towards the deeping skull of trilo's head. An army bred for a single purpose. He valiantly knocked back as many as he could - far more than most could manage. But the enemy was not above...

Quick recap, my journal entries have been too long lately and I apologize if I've bored people to tears. Those of you who've been kind enough to read through and make comments are too nice to me, and deserve some kind of medal.
Working on Friday has its pros and cons. The con of course is that you're working. And for me that means getting...

Dude, you are frequently verbiose, but seldom long winded, so keep those long journal entries coming! Even when I don't comment, I always read 'em. Sounds like you've been partying so hard in recent months that you're giving your stamina a run for the money!!
OK, so here's some kind of Thanksgiving recap (also known as the journal entry from hell)...
11ish..
Remembered that I have to make 'pink stuff' which requires some time sitting in the fridge to set. It's an old family dessert recipe, something my grandmother made for the kids. She was a great woman, and was never one to put on airs or make something sound...

oh no no no I didn't have to make the pumpkin part soy, I had to substitute soy for all the dairy products because sixsixty is lactose intolerant. A soy pumpkin would be silly.

yeah...dude.

So it's some kind of big american holiday... hmmm, hallmark's got their fingers in it, the church is all over it, and it's a sort of celebration of excess and, if the amount of leftovers most people throw away is any indication... waste. I'm torn, really. Thanksgiving has so much potential. Maybe if they got rid of the cards and the centerpieces and the decorations,...

Ahhh - Wednesday night and filled with the mayhem potential. Going to the opening of Haunted Mansion at the El Capitan theater in Hollywood, then possibly joining some mayhem already in progress at a very special night of Perversion. Thanksgiving will be chill, relaxing and spending time with a couple good friends. The weekend holds a lot of decadent promise. Maybe amidst the chaos, I'll...

Still inexplicably broken. I can think of no explanation other than I suffer for my art.
Inferno's done, though. Mastered the disc last week, and locked down the cover too. I'm quite pleased - not just with the look or the track selection, but this disc was actually mixed live (on the computer, but using a program that does all this in real time). That...

I agree, saying Detroit to someone far off is totally fine. They dont know the locality and that is the only way you can relate it. I was just asking you a general question for specificity because I am from the area and I was wondering.
Additionally, the Southern edge of Dearborn and downtown Detroit is in fact about ten miles. However, I ment ten miles in the sense that ten miles from Palmer park is Oakland county. My reference was for denouncing the concept of Metro detroit. Personally, I think it is sick that racism would exist on such an scale. Dress it up any way you like, but I get pissed that people grow up in rich suburbs and hate a city they never go to, becauce the population is primarily African American and then to make it worse they claim they are from it with intention of presenting themselves as being tough when really they have never spent more then the length of a footbal game in the city. I wasnt saying you did that, just that it happens.
As for East Pointe, it may in fact be highly concerned with land value and tax brackets, but just because they abandoned Detroits government doesnt change the fact that they were once part of the city and they in many ways still have its neighborhood mentality. In fact, it was the strength of their community that led to them breaking away. Forget the legal titles, they are distinctly Detroit as much as any of the committees are. As for Gross Pointe, wheter or not there is a few hidden lower middle class neighborhoods, you cant be black and drive down a city street without getting searched. That is as distinctly "metro detroit" as it gets. They both may have pointe in the name, but they are very different cities.
PS Your last post seemed offended. I dont mean to anger you, I just think people have alot of passion about the area due to the distinct fragmentation and I was wondering where you were from.

so which is it? passionate or vulgar?
i spoke w/ my dad and he said he had pnemonia after his quad bypass surgery (i had forgotten) so i'm not as worried as i was. hehe i'm actually going to CHURH w/ my fam tonight (more for them than me) so i'll make LOTS of people pray for her. : ) at least it's a non-denominational church w/ rock music that's a little too loud, and i'm going to wear my nose ring as planned hahaha!
