So I had a dream a couple of days ago. I was among various SGs. So was Willow from Buffy the vamp slayer; she wasn't showing any flesh, she was simply present. A couple of the girls were being mistreated by a thoroughly unpleasant guy. One spoke up and was attacked by the other girls. The other kept quiet while this was going on next to her. I told Willow I wanted to leave this den of vipers, and then I woke up.
The viper metaphor is appropriate. Zeus raped Medusa, and out of jealousy Athena turned her into the monster most of us are familiar with. Everyone blamed Medusa for the whole thing, as if it was her fault she was raped and cursed.
I wonder what the difference is between people who won't put up with it, people who do, and people who join in.
