This morning I got up annoyingly early to herd cows. They were already in the corral... or however it's spelt, but the job was to put them all through the single file portion of it. Then they were sprayed along the spine back to the rearward orifices so that flies would not lay eggs in them. Being eaten alive by maggots is really bad. So is selling maggot-ridden beef.

I sell cows that are turned into food. Take that, vegetarians! But take solace in the fact that it's really good food. If there's one thing the average Portuguese person can do, it's eat well.

Also said hello to my mother's horse. It's older than I am, which is really something for a horse.

Of course I got the bridge of my nose and the back of my neck sunburnt this morning because I wasn't awake enough to remember suncream until we'd left the house, but that didn't stop me doing another fifty laps in the pool this afternoon. Hardly any writing this time.

I'm missing my internet connection and my bookmarked webcomics. This laptop has a little red vodaphone box plugged into the side, it's about half the speed of broadband. Is this wi-fi? I'm also missing various things I'm used to having close at hand. And chicken sammiches.
