To your final questions, YES. YES and YES. I do order a meat based salad, split a dessert but the key is to steal from everyone elses plate! I always try everyone elses meal just so I feel like I'm enjoying a deepfried parma too. Soemtimes I like to save up my calories/fat if I want a regular meal at said restaurant, in which case I will eat salad and fruit all day, then eat a meal and dessert to myself. YUM!
Mentally it is really important to not alienate yourself from food. Food is still a good time, food is still something you share on holidays, special occasions and with family, love it, just don't live for it.

aw your reply in phunkys blog...I didn't think I could run until I was "forced" to by my trainer. I hated it I would only do short sprint and then walk. They got longer and longer. I haven't ran since my last trainer but yeah it is easier to do it outside although then people can see...so yeah just want to say after a little bit of trying and training you could be a runner.
