i bet there are tons of people that would model for you - you just have to look under the right rocks. put up an ad on here, and be as non-sleazy as possible! i bet someone will say yes. maybe you can get them to pose on webcam for you or something. not me though

hate is a strong word, but i'm not fond of landscapes either. i cannot draw or do anything artistically visual (i am a classical pianist), so whenever someone is able to draw something recognizable (especially a person), i am amazed. like those guys that sit out on the street in manhattan and will draw your portrait for cash...and it looks just like you. floors me. hey! you could be one of those guys!

I'll be brief here, what I am looking for in a relationship is a best friend, a person who makes me a better person just by being with them. Looks are not the most important thing to me by any means, I am much more of a personality person.

i came over here to tell you something similar (but more computerphobic) about my dad (from your post in the mac group) but when i got here i made the "mistake" of looking at your art, and it's beautiful, and now i forgot what i was going to say, and now i have a question! do you paint the models off live posing, or photos, or your memory, or something else?

ok, i didn't really forget what i was going to say. my 72 year old dad (still seems young) is finally going to retire next year, and is going to buy his first-ever computer. never sent an email, never typed on a computer keyboard. nothing-nada-zilch. luckily he has a good friend who's got him convinced that a mac is the way to go. i don't think he'll be "playing" dumb at all. i think it's going to confuse the piss out of him, and hopefully not literally.

First off, I have a great uncle, everyone calls him Uncle David, who's about as old as your dad. And though he uses a PC he seems to have no problem using it. I never thought about converting him to a Mac.

A lot of the work on my site came from my college days (trying to make ends meet doesn't lend much time to carefree drawing, painting, etc). We had live models then. I use all types of "modeling." It depends what I'm trying to capture. It's hard to find live models outside an academic setting. Against the wishes of my professors, I still have the tendency to use celebrity photoshoots as models. Not from a copyright concern (My work varies so much from the actual model that that would never be an issue), these glossy magazine ad photos are too glamorous, too perfect. But sometimes that's all you have. I have tried to get actual models. No one seems to want to do that. And I don't have a studio.

I hate landscapes but that's pretty much what I've been lessened to ("Looking Out My Back Door" is one of my favorites and was done from a photograph taken from a hunting shack in the bayous of New Orleans).

Unfortunately, my time is given now only to forging a career (graphic design) and the impossible (getting my books published). I still do models of the characters from my books. It helps to have a visual. In fact, a few of the SGs have unwittingly served as models. Thanks ER for coming by. As you can see I don't get much traffic.
