I'm not liking the world too much at the present.

Unlike normally, this doesn't come from the shallow, selfish part of myself. I'm upset that good people are always put down. I know it's their fault, being good never did anyone (meaning good for oneself) any good. Good people are martyrs because bad things happen to them and, being good, the can't or won't retaliate...

Note for those with such a problem... if your mother calls and mentions her suicidal leanings just shoot back with stories of your on... how you of only half her years have laid on a mattress in a house with no air and tried to "will" yourself to die. She will change the subject will quick smile

I'm sitting here at work, having smuggled in my...

By Dr. Z, I hope you mean that DaimlerChysler chairman, and not the character from Jess Franco's "Diabolical Dr. Z." That guy wasn't cool at all, plus he died only 5 minutes into the movie.

I don't know if you saw this, but, on the Chrysler web site, there's this " Ask Dr. Z" feature, where you can type in your own questions. I feel like asking: Say, you weren't one of those doctors at Auschwitz, were you?

tongue I'm sorry I haven't been around to talk to. I've been writing an awful lot, though.

It ocurred to me today just as I popped in the DVD to watch to prepare myself for the sequel that, like those clips of Erol Flynn swinging in as Robin Hood, the chariots of Spartacus, Harrison Ford with whip and hat, and Bogie walking away from the woman in a "beautiful friendship," that a certain scene/pic will also become an iconic piece of Hollywood....

If you could read my mind love
What a tale my thoughts could tell
Just like an old time movie
bout a ghost from a wishin well
In a castle dark or a fortress strong
With chains upon my feet
But stories always end
And if you read between the lines
Youll know that Im just tryin to understand
The feelins that you lack
I...

hey there - thanks for the recommendation about replacing the old powerbook. i'm sort of on the fence. i think i'm either going to live with the crack for a while (it's along the bottom and fairly unobtrusive), to see if it gets worse/how bad it gets OR i'm going to get a macbook (just the macbook - i don't need the power of the pro and i like the smaller size). ANYWAY, thanks especially for pointing out that replacing the LCD is hard. i know some folks were saying it was an easy repair, so i started looking into it. and i think i probably visibly blanched - as it seemed that replacing the lcd would require taking off the whole screen displaly .... which involves basically gutting the PB. not something i wanted to do.. so yea. basically, thanks for yer time - it was helpful.

there is a local apple store. i may take it back - though, i i'm pretty sure they'd cost me more. there is a local joint that is apple certified ... so i emailed them for a quote. we'll see what they say. my PB isn't really that old - just over 2 years, and it chugs along nicely (1.22 ghz and a gig of RAM). so it's got plenty of muscle for what i do - a lil statistical analysis and web design, but mostly email, web, word processing, and spread sheets.

if i did get new, i'd "just" get the macbook. i was looking yesterday, and i don't need a pro at all. my wife loves her new macbook. so yea. that's that i think. i'll try to live with the crack for a week (which is not very obtrusive so far), see what the price to get fixed is .. and go from there. thanks again. smile

A few concerns...

I woke up this afternoon (I work the late shift, shut up) and clicked my pink little SG widget. What appeared in Safari was not the big pink SG. I thought it was broken until I realized, this isn't an RSS flub up, it's a new look. Personally at this moment, I say for it will probably grow on me, I'm not...
