Yeah I have to really concentrate during job interviews to look folks in the eye.
I feel like I'm challenging them or something.
Maybe I hang out with dogs too much.
Outside of work and family, the majority of my relationships are now virtual. Even people I used to hang with I only see online these days (academic diaspora to blame, mainly). I think for old married guys, this might actually be an improvement. The work/family circuit can get pretty self-contained. I think I prefer SG to a bowling league, anyway. Do SG people go bowling? Come to think of it, I do that virtually now, too....
Thanks for the comments on the drawing! You're not the first person who has accused me of being a women- guess the profile pic is a little misleading- not TRYING to fool anyone though- my picture is in my profile
We must've lived similar lives buddy boy.
Yeah spring break was like that for me too.
I was at the most affluent college in the US at the time - not attending, simply living.
I slept on floors, gf's beds, etc...
One particular spring break i spent in a friend's empty dorm room - two weeks all alone, reading And I Don't Want To Live This Life.
What the fuck did I eat?
I don't even remember.
And yeah Punk Rock was my life.
What are the lyrics to the Minutemen song?
Mr. narrator - this is Bob Dylan to me...
I remember some pretty "lonely" Thanksgivings during those crazy college days.
And the years I was on the road with a band.
Come to think of it - if I wasn't on the road or in some empty dorm cos I couldn't afford to go home, I was with someone's family for a proper T'giving, in which case there were kids and parents and cousins and grandparents running and napping and all that.
