Just bought an electonic drumset so as not to piss off neighbors while I try to teach myself to play. This should be fun.

Random drama of the week:
Last night, around 12:30, I found myself running to my window to see what the source of the gunshots were...yes, I said gunshots...according to various people in my building, there were 12 of them.

Well then...I might be joining yet another band...this one already an active, gigging, paying band. I'll probably find out in a day or so what's going on with that one. If it happens, I might drop the prog-metal band because I find it silly.

On a totally unrelated note, I get to go help someone teach people how to beat each other up tomorrow. biggrin

War of the Worlds...pretty good movie....right up until the last 5 fucking minutes! The ending ruins everything! mad

Isn't cubase a sequencing/synth package? It's pretty complex from what I remember. Maybe not the best starting point. I've been dicking around with Sonar producer 4, cause it seems to have reasonable multitrack support. My friend Jason was over last night (he's a recording ninja) giving me some pointers. I might have someting resembling a reasonable recording setup by the time you get over here again.

I'm really just dicking around, trying to get good sound out of the whole thing. Currently, everything sounds like the instruments are about 1/4 mile away, wrapped in tin foil. I tried micing the amp last night, but all I have to work with is this crap audio technical microphone that I got from a punk band rehersal like 13 years ago. It's only advantage is that I don't need XLR hookups to get it working. tongue
