Alas, the vacation comes to an end. I'm sitting in an internet cafe in Sydney, waiting to wander off to the airport to go back home.
A week in San Francisco/Napa, followed by 10 days in Australia...this is the way to break a 12-year stretch without a real vacation!

I just wanted to let you know that I have applied for membership in SG808. I was stationed in Pearl Harbor in the mid 90's and loved Hawaii. I bought my motorcycle from Sandy Brodies (still have it), was a regular at Anna Bannanas (Does the North American Bush Band still play there?), and made many a trip to Lahaina, particuallry for Halloween. I will be traveling there for work several times over the next year, and would love to be a member of SG808.
Oh, and your screename is hilarious. I had a friend who married a Philipino, do you know what their kids are called there? Haolepinos. robot

Work is going crazy. I haven't had a day off in several weeks, plus the multiple band thing is wearing me the fuck out.

So in a month, I'm doing something I haven't done since 1994. I'm taking a vacation. Like, a real vacation. Not a long weekend in Vegas or a 4-day trip to Chicago to see my dad. I'm talking a week in San Francisco, followed by...get this...a week in motherfucking Australia!!

I just made the best grilled cheese sandwich in the world.

My new apartment right across the Ala Wai from Ala Moana Center. It's not a bad neighborhood. (I say that after, I've already had a run-in with a kooky lady). All of my neighbors are really nice. It's much better than being stuffed in between two hostels.
