Went to a lecture by Robert Moog at the university an hour ago. It was partly sheer boredom when he tried to talk about where ideas come from, by talking about Ptolemy, Copernicus, Kepler and Galileo, and then trying to "synthesize" that into the concept of research as informed intuition.

Those are all perfectly good and valid points and between your comments and a few from other members, I think I have a much better sense of how your interview process. Perhaps I should have been more willing to inquire as to the reasons why, before being so quick to offer criticism. In anycase, I hope my criticism is seem as just that and not an attack in anyway."
