Prepping: for yet another job interview. I actually very much want this one ... which makes it all the worse. It's tomorrow morning, first thing. Man, it'd be good to know what I'm going to do with the year before, say, February kicks off.

Reading and re-reading: a letter I received on Monday saying I've made it through to the interview round for the Japan...

you are the very first sg-type person to notice the labret came out. kiss

I take it the gay scene is pretty much the same the world over. I just feel so out of place and unwelcome in most gay venues. The one I went to this weekend was just your average gay male dominated club dotted with a few lesbians who thought they where extras in the L Word. Most the blokes are just bitchy full stop and there seems to be a lot of hostility towards women in general especially butch/dykey looking ones...great. One week there was a fight in the ladies over someone complaining cause a male looking woman was in there surreal oooook

Lucky there is quite a few queer mutiny D.I.Y events about, I would be a very sad panda without them, there is hope.

Hope you interview goes/went well

kiss

Reading: Salman Rushdie's Midnight's Children. I've been meaning to for years and have just started. As expected, I'm loving it already.

Spending my Sundays feeding homeless cats. They are so sweet and adorable. Last week two of my favourites found new homes. I see my future: it involves a crazy old lady with too many cats. smile

Practicing: my Japanese. By which I mean...

Ima Shiduni-wa nanji desu ka?

If it's any consolation, consider how bad their english is:

Housing in Canberra is probably worse than Sydney. Haven't shopped around their lately, but it's hard to imagine anything worse than this.

Breathing: a sigh of relief. My Mum had been staying for the last 10 days. Yesterday, I saw her off on her flight to NZ. I love her but 10 days of her in my house was enough. More. Than.

Loving: the new year. 2005 sucked bad. 2006 is going to be better, I can feel it.

Asking: what great loot did you rake in...

Just had an excellent 3-hour session in which we re-wrote the first and most of the second act. As the 4th act can stand as-is (and "act" is a loosely used term--the whole play coming in under an hour) we're breathing a bit easier.

Bawling: my eyes out. But in a good way - my sister is pregnant. smile

Planning: the Xmas menu. It's going to be a seafood Xmas, I think.

Reading: the weekend Sydney Morning Herald. My newspaper subscription ran out a month or 2 ago so I've been reading news online. I forgot how much I prefer reading the broadsheets spread out over the dining table with...

Searching: for a good/interesting recipe for home-make chocolates. Anyone?

Loving: making dodgy movies. Could spend all day doing this.

Do you think the ballast provided by the beers will competely dampen the noisy fridge resonance, or will it also need lubrication as others have suggested?

Reckon I have a recipe for chocolate-coated chillis somewhere ... let me dig around.
steven:
No luck with the recipe, sorry frown

However I have acquired an extra-large bucket of water based UltraLube and will apply a liberal quantity to my fridge, all its contents and what the heck the stove as well, per your advice. I hope you're right about this...

just think about the advantages... how often do you get to have so much time to get the things done that need doing? You'll probably spend the rest of your life working... so enjoy the lull while it lasts.

Can you pay your rent? ... if the answer is yes, then you're fine.

That's my attitude for the time being. Once I start to wonder if I'll be able to come up with the money... then we'll talk
