Hampster is still antisocial. Want to get to the taming thing, but need to figure out how to get her out of her cage first. Been trying to bribe her with carrots, but she seems uninterested. I still have bruises from last week's dodgeball game and it's almost time for this week's game. I think I forgot to mention this in any prior entries, but...

I got a replacement hampster last night. It's a Chinese one because I did a little research and from what I read they're supposed to be the best tempered of the dwarfs. She's a bit antisocial at the moment, but I just got her. Still, I'm giving her a week and it she doesn't get a bit more friendly by then I plan to take...

if you try to feed the lil critter treets and hold it daily it will tame nicely, but I'm not sure a week is necessarily long enough...

My mom came to visit this weekend. She got here Saturday afternoon and was going to leave Sunday afternoon. She just finally left this morning. I felt kinda bad because she did my laundry and stuff while I was at school and I invited her down to visit, not to be my maid. I bought a couple of hamsters over the weekend too. The girl...

I used to raise the Russian dwarf hampsters, and they will do fairly well with another in the cage provided that the cage is big enough, and that they are male and female or male and male, the females just don't get along. This is not to say that all of them will tollerate a cage mate, but they do fair much better than the teddybear ones. If you get two from the same litter, they will more than likely be ok together, because they are used to each other. But Hampsters in general are fairly solitary, so keeping one by itself, won't do it any harm. I like those lil guys.
I like rats too, if get a young one, and it will not only tame easily, they become quite attached to you. Much more so than any hampster or mouse would. They do smell a bit more than hampsters, but not nearly as much as mice. And they're fairly smart too. I used to teach mine tricks! Well "tricks" at anyrate.
I would avoid mice. They never get terrribly friendly, are always prone to biting, and smell much much worse than hampsters. I also never had any luck with teddybear hampsters. I think if you get them young they're better, but every one of the ones I had bit me.

Finally finished my new 3-D project, except for the sewing part, but I'll be glad to do that part now. I have literally been working until my hands bled the last few days. They look like crap now since they're basically shredded from working with sheet metal. I'm having slight trouble driving because the palms of my hands are bruised (stick shift), but somehow the...

I just had an epiphany. My best friend is living in the 19th century. She recently revealed to me that she had realized that women shouldn't be allowed to vote because they aren't capable of making choices like that. I've always known that she's a bit more dependent on guys than I would ever want to be, but to each thier own. On the other...

No class today. They gave us the day off for MLK Day, but we have to make it up Friday so I would have perfered to go today. Had my first critique with my sculpture professor last week. I ended up getting very defensive, which I felt bad about. I normally have no problem taking criticizim related to my work during a critique. I almost...

Am more awake this morning and hoping for a better day (not that it could be worse than yesterday without someone dying). I'm rather tired still but am halfway through my week so rather sure I'll make it. I get a 4 day weekend this week! My parents want me to drive up to Atlanta to visit, but that's not going to happen. Besides the...

Talk about a crappy day today. I had to really drag myself out of bad today because I couldn't sleep last night. Half consciously bumbled about the apartment getting stuff together for class and ran out the door earlier than normal because I knew I had to stop and get gas on the way. Locked and closed the door and instantly realized my keys were...

Submitted my photoset this morning so here's hoping. I have class in the morning, but I want a couple more days of weekend. Last week went by fast so hopefully this week will too.I didn't really do anything this weekend. Didn't go out (suprise, suprise) but got some pizza and hung around the apartment. Think I'm gonna get a tattoo with the money if my...

Once again putting up a morning post before I run off to class. This having class every morning thing seemed brilliant when I was signing up for classes, but now I keep thinking "why the hell did I do this?" every morning at 7:30 when that alarm goes off. My good note for the day is that it's about 8 and class starts at 9...

I used to just scoop them up kind of quick-like so they didn't have time to get too freaked out, and then hold them in my open palms. I don't know what kind of cage you have tho, so maybe you can't
