Well, that's me back from the distant wastes of the north and feeling much better. Spent a lot of time with my new baby niece Mia who is a wee buttercup and very cute. I brought lots of goodies up for her. My fave was a woolly hat that looks like a big strawberry with a stalk coming out of the top!

Sorry to hear things aren't on the up, but I'll tell you one thing that'll cheer you up (not)...
Being a Dad to an almost 19 month old girl, is fucking unbelievable. I never thought I'd love someone so unconditionally, even though she can be a little moo like her Mum! She throw's strops that makes me piss myself laughing, she tells jokes to herself and makes herself laugh for ages - i don't get them
She runs around in circles and makes herself dizzy and ends up falling flat on her arse and I miss her when I put her down to go to sleep.
charlieguru never wanted to be a mother (she couldn't), and I certainly didn't expect our girl.
It's turned our lives upside down - for the better (mind you the old coifers in the pocket are sure disappearing!)
IF you have offspring, it'll freak you out like nothing ever beofre has, and it'll keep you warm as well... trust me about this - we've been through it all already!
p.s.: did i sound like the gushing parent? Oh god i hope not!

Had an incredibly shit day today. A friend of the family died after being ill a long time, Mum sent me an email at work to let me know and I burst into tears in front of the whole department...had to be led gently away, mascara dripping, to be forcefed cigarettes and coffee until I could face going back in again. not good.

But then we have the happy memories of them and the love and warmth they brought... or in the case of my nan, the evil, child-beating hatred and stubborn single-mindedness... hell i'm glad she's dead!
