Never have I had days like the past bunch of days...
Yesterday I shot for about 12 hours nonstop - in a wash of rain and a downpour of sweat, in the shower, on the fire escape and hangin' out the window, in curtain-sash bondage, slippery dentists' chairs and glorious squeaky-clean public wetness. Dirty, smart sweet people 'been blowing me away with their generosity.

So when do I get to see my pixxxxxxxxx??
lemonkid:
So are you in Montreal until next Weds or this past Weds?

Because I'll be coming back into town Sunday night.

I'd forgotten how much trouble & good food there are to be had in Montreal...

Still reeling a bit from finding out what I *won't* be doing in September. Now arises the question of what I *will* get up to. The portions of my brain that deal with content, story, meaning, aesthetics & change feel underused next to the portions that deal with making tech tools function as advertised. If you were an artsy thingmaker interested in a dramatic shift...

To answer your question of where to go,
I say Thailand. They make lotsa artsy things and you could enjoy a pretty beach and perhaps catch a whiff of inspiration.
Plus, i bet they make good coladas.
Common now.
And you could bring me, just for kicks wink
oryx:
you flatter me, fine sir.

Found out today I'm not going to grad school in September. Phooey. Vast new vistas of disappointment open before me...

There'll be other applications, other excitements & other challenges, and this means I can spend longer at the writing retreat coming up, but I'm still kinda sad.

In other news, I'll be in Montreal this weekend through to the 2nd, shootin smut and possibly teaching...

today's theme -medical mayhem. Appropriate enough, cuz I've been hella sick this past week [apologies if i I haven't returned notes here or elsewhere. Mostly better now. ]

Passed a sign on my way to work:
"We repair or replace diabetic machines."

Shortly thereafter, got off a full bus to wait for an ambulance with a passenger who'd passed out & hit his noggin earlier...

I'm a chickenshit. Altered last night's post to be a little less detailedly revelatory of what I get up to with my sweeties. I must *really* be getting old.

My wednesday night was pretty damn fine, too

3 months and 20 days since I last sucked a cigarette. Don't actually much miss the activity of smoking, but the regularity of taking a smoke break organized work in different ways than it's happening now. Back to trying for a little completion...
applejax:
Ahhh...we try our bestwink

Not missing smoking is a good thing! kiss

Man you have to tell me where the "Hell Is Real " sign pic was shot. If I am not wrong it is very close to wher I live. If it is you were a long way from home. Can I take a guess...Upton Kentucky?
sodome:
@Steveh56: I don't recall the exact location, but Upton sounds right. Our impromptu Graceland roadtrip took us through Kentucky, got us lost looking for bourbon and took us in/outta the state all within a few hours. Far from home has been the norm these past few years. smile

Nancy's documentary won best doc at Inside out. I wasn't even the primary cameraperson - I just happened to be the freelancer who was around to shoot an historic event that she was able to use to tell the story.
She called me up a day after winning to tell me about it.

Today, I watched from the audience while a client/producer for whom I...

Cried today seeing a lively documentary by Nancy Nicol 'bout queer marriage. Oughtta get my head checked.

Rcardo Acosta did a totally magnificent job of picture editing; made my little bits of camerawork at the beginning & end look so good it floored me. The man's a hero!
