Apparently, the Canadian Politics group doesn't want anyone who doesn't agree with the NDP's separatist anti-democratic agenda.
I started a topic on the addition of seats in Ontario, Alberta and BC in the House of Commons and the NDP's position and got banned from the group. Apparently the group owner's first rule about free speech is lip service.

The definition of troll has been amended to include anyone who doesn't agree with the far left leanings of the group owner. Got it. If you criticize any party other than the Tories or Harper, you're a Troll. Recognizing the failings of the other parties makes you a troll. Ignoring them makes you an ordinary member of the group.
thejuanupsman:
Hmm, maybe they need separate groups for each political faction like they do for U.S politics. Doesn't seem likely to create much discussion though.

As a group owner, I have a question: how hard is it to read the group requirements when you try to join?

It's spring. I know this because bicycles are out on the side rides again. This weekend, I witnessed something that was truly striking. By that I mean I wanted to strike someone, of course. A teenaged boy was riding down the side ride without a helmet, which is bad enough. On top of that, he was riding his bike with no hands, which isn't all...

i confess, i too am occasionally guilty of taking my bicycle on the side ride. however, in my own defence, that has mostly to do with it being far too dangerouse to ride on a road with anything more than the occasional traffic in this city.
thejuanupsman:
I hate when I see stuff like that. As someone who uses a bicycle as their primary form of transportation I resent that behavior like this makes life harder for me. So many cyclists complain about pedestrian and motorist behavior but then turn around and behave badly themselves.

Long time no update...you still around?

I recently discovered that I was not alone. I have conducted this search before, but like the pro-abortion movement, I had assumed there were not many of us.

I have also become annoyed with the political framing of the militant pro-abortion movements, such as this group. I have decided to coin my own frame for the pro-abortion movement. Henceforth, I will refer to...

The political framing of both sides on most issues usually annoys me, and I can think of any number of issues that I would support, but would distance myself from the traditionally associated organizations who usually champion those issues.
thejuanupsman:
I think rather than wonderful I'd describe it as annoying. I'd like to see a lot less spin on both sides.

I had always wanted to be a member of the Order of Canada. Until yesterday.

The Adventures of Alphonse the Sardonic Pedestrian.

One day, Alphonse was walking down the sideride at 5:15 p.m. When he came to a corner, he stopped for the orange hand. A man on a bicycle came to a stop between him and the adjacent condo tower. Alphonse took out his earbuds and looked at the helmeted person beside him.
"With drivers this crazy, I don't...

Good to see you are still around this place. I was afraid I might come back to a totally gray friends list.

I'm afraid I've been a little busy lately, so some of you may have been overlooked when attempting to contact me. It all had do do with some papers I had to sign and jewelry that had to be exchanged on October 26. Now that the event is a month in the past, I'm not sure I can use the getting married/just got married excuse...

That was very informative. I'm surprised at how many things I did not know about this disease.

It appears I have not put anything in here in awhile. It seems a lot of my entries start this way. I have been busy with work, other work, and making a library.

This morning, I gave this to my girlfriend. I guess I have to get used to calling her my fiance.

I guess its old news now but Congratulations anyway! Sorry I haven't been around but I was caught up in a relationship which went a very different way (she did have a number of tattoos & piercings though!). Good to see your still around and behaving much like a human being should (I'm still resisting those urges)

I am afraid I had been a little uncommunicative lately. For those who wondered, the picture in my blog was of Mcpl Arndt. For those who have read my profile, you know my second job is as a bartender. The bartending I do is at a military mess in Edmonton. I had been in the militia when I was in university, and missed being around...

I was wondering about that last entry... since the 'friends blog' view doesn't show pictures (it just says 'image only'), the last entry was a bit enigmatic.

Sorry to hear about his loss, though.

Ahh it appears I misunderstood your last journal. Sorry to hear about your loss.
