Vacation is going well. Meeting lots of cool people. I've put WELL over a thousand miles on the motorcycle. There have been adequate amounts of alcohol consumed since I arrived. Good amounts of sleep! Back in Colorado I sometimes forget what it's like to get adequate amounts of sleep.

Lane Splitting...

I'm sure all of you Californians know what this means. Whether you ride a motorcycle or drive a car, once traffic slows down, that's when it happens.

For any of you that don't know that term, lane splitting is when motorcyclists drive BETWEEN the lanes in traffic jams. Yes, driving BETWEEN all those cars that are stuck in traffic.

Insane or not...I can now say I'm a hardass...no...wait...that's not rigt... But I have fulfilled the requirements of being a member of the Iron Butt Association. Yay! My total mileage to SF was more, but for the sake of IBA, I did 1,058 miles in 23 hours. More miles than needed, and in less time. Now I just have to organize and submit my paperwork so that those TOP SECRET IBA members can determine my worthiness.

Two more days until the motorcycle ride starts. Approximately 1,250 mile solo motorcycle ride from Colorado to SGSF central (San Francisco). SamanthaKayne wonders why I'd even leave. It's a darn good question. Colorado ROCKS! For the time being, I couldn't imagine living anywhere else. This place has everything but an ocean, but you just can't have everything, can you?
