Hangover. I had another evening of sitting at The Basement Pub with my friends until 4 in the morning -- always interesting. Dave was again making the argument that if World War II was a war against fascism we lost (we certainly didn't win militarily, the Russians did --the US doesn't win wars), apparently the Truman campaign and the Nazi party had the same corporate...

The book explores the resurgence of body modification in the 90s, the whys, whos, and wheres, and looks at different "subcultures" within the body modification community - I'll let you know how it is when I'm finished.

So I succeded in my web-break for most of the day, although phone calls requiring reaserch have broken me. Good news and bad news: the good news is that moving my cats to Europe will be easy, however the work visa process is much harder and longer then I expected. When the visa is issued (after 4 months waiting) I have to fly back to...

Tommorow I am leaving the computer at home. I am waiting for an e-mail from my cousin in Spain that affects my move to Europe greatly. I have been checking my e-mail obsessively for almost five days, the madness of trying to control something over which I have no control -- consequently I have spent way too much time here when I should have been...

I agree 100% about the box of evilness... I have been trying to spend less time on it lately.

I hope all goes well and you get your good e-mail soon. kiss

It does isolate, doesn't it? Once I'm done work I try to leave the laptop turned off for the rest of the night. I have so many things I want to do and too many distractions already.

The nights lately have been freezing, but clear, electricly clear the way it only can be when it's cold. Venus shines through my window, low in the sky an amethyst making me forget the other stars are even there (except for Orion, the hunter shooting his cautionary arrows). I lay awake in my bed and stare at the same planet that used to light she...

Yesterday I was walking from Stumptown to work just on the tail end of a nasty hail-shower that I was utterly unprepared and underdressed for. My father had just left town and I was sighing, glad to have my space back, thinking about the holidays and my lack of rest and time. Relieved to have my life be my own again (as oppesed to my...

Tell me what you do with the food you eat and I'll tell you who you are. Some turn their food into fat and manure, some into work and good humor, and others, I'm told, into God. So there must be three sorts of men. I'm no one of the worst, boss, nor yet one of the best. I'm somewhere between the two. What I...

My New Years eve went down like one of those culinary disasters that Anthony Bourdain writes about. 125 people felt like 400, planning was poor, the menu overly comlex with too many courses. Servers fucked the kitchen by seating everybody at once, the owner brought 10 more people than he had initially said. The short of it is, we were in the weeds for 6...

The holidays have crystilized my plans for travel, and now I spend a month in the south of France before I move to Mallorca. Isn't it strange to realize that you've grown up and you actually like your family?

Party a success, I found a champage fluke filled with weed this morning. Collectively we 9 people drank 13 botlles of wine (not including the 1980 tawny port, at 40% alchohol). Aside from the late night vomiting I am quite happy with the way things turned out. Although I feel the food was slightly under-par for me, but I justify by saying I was over-wasted....

Things are funny. I learned last night that my empoyment hangs by a thread. I stay up too late, I drink too much, smoke too much -- my busy mind lies awake contemplating the absurdity of my paranoia. It would seem I am walking the razor yet again. This time there will be no rescue, I will stand or fall by my own descions. There...

I can't make the hills
The system is shot
I'm livinng on pills
For which I thank G-d

I followed the course
From chaos to arft
Desire the horse
Depression the cart

I sailed like a swan
I sank like a rock
But time is long gone
Past my laughing stock

My pagge was too white
My ink was too thin
The day wouldn't write...
