So, we had talked about going out for sushi tonight .... but Ive got this chest cold thing that's either coming on or clearing up. It's not yet 100% obvious which way it's going to me. So we made French toast and I think we'll watch a movie later (Gone Baby Gone I think, if you're keeping score at home). So it goes. The...

Home for Easter, having a nice time.
Important question for visiting the parents: Is it kosher to have sex in your parents' house? I tend to think no.

I'd have to say, I've forgotten what any of that was like...

Other upcoming travel plans:
I'll be in St. Louis at the end of May. And I think we're doing New York in August.

I'll be in Providence at the end of April - what's exciting in the Ocean State?

Thank you; all input is appreciated.
I feel like I owe this box an update ... but, seriously, the longer I *don't* update - the easier it is to not update. That's inertia for you.
Things are good on this end. I'm crackerjacking on work. I saw Wilco on Saturday night and that was sweet as sweet can be. I just wrapped up Blindsight by Peter Watts, and its the best...

You're a social sciences person, IIUC. Do you have a strong opinion about the proper length of a questionnaire?

I'm writing a paper. Final-year undergrad.
I'm still kicking, doing battle with data, and generally being content (if up way too early on a regular basis).

Happy Birthday.
Here's a tip for your data battle: cock punch.

I am up way too early every day... but that's because I have a kid, lol
We're on some sort of HBO series binge right now. Recently, Amazon had a sale of TV boxed sets, so we picked up Deadwood Season 3, Rome Season 1, and Carnivale Season 1. Then, when I was home for the holidays, I walked in to Best Buy and found The Wire Season 1 for half off. So I was *obligated* to pick that up.
The...

So, Christmas wasn't all hospitals and worrying...
It was fantastic just to be home. I got together with an old friend, saw I Am Legend, and caught up with my family.
Oh. And my in-laws got us a Wii. Which we've wanted, but could never find, for over a year now. My father-in-law is a barber, the kind of guy who always "knows a...

A Wii, eh? so we should see you again in about six months? Happy new year.
toothpickmoe:
I've yet to play on a Wii. Is it like the nugget of console systems?

So Christmas was interesting..... We had planned to leave home on *Sunday*, with my sister in tow. We had reserved the rental car for Saturday, b/c the local rental place isn't open on Sunday. But that worked out OK, since we ended up leaving a day early on Saturday anyway, due to the weather beating down our way for Sunday. So we missed out on...

Personally I like my juicy love to be in non-nugget form, but whatever floats your boat.

Hm. Are you a Robin Hitchcock fan? Do I remember that from many moons ago? Where is my wallet? Are you - or have you ever been - the Captain of Spoons? Cos that's not your name.
Also, HNY

Today I finished my shopping. (That was actually easy. We "canceled" Christmas this year, on my side of the family. We all pooled some money, and are buying some needed stuff for a less fortunate member of the family. Take that consumerism! But I did pick up a something for the wife.)
Today I also turned in a chapter draft to E.

I can't believe I used to post stuff here all the time. I'm not sure what the fuck I used to talk about?
I wish I had more energy for this actually, so I could post neat things and we could talk about them ... maybe once break rolls around I'll try to dig in.

everyone seems to be going through roughly the same thing.

I can't update because the "edit journals" function is broken and it's a huge part of how I put them together.
I can't read Dan Simmons. I think he's the only author I've ever refused to read, for effectiveness. Powers, on the other hand... I bought The Drawing Of The Dark many years ago, and I must have read it a dozen times. I don't think he's ever matched it, TBH.
