Woke up today at 9 am and did next to nothing until noon. Did I mention I bought a digital camera? I messed around with that until about 3pm until I got hungry and raided the refrigerator. I've been thinking a lot about New Years resolutions and besides the obvious usual physical fitness resolutions, I've decided I need to get back to my old risk...

>It's just a body, nothing special!

Hon, it's your body and you're very special. And I don't mean special as in that short bus that took kids to elementary school. I mean it in a good way. smile

Have a wonderful New Year! smile

>Happy New Year!!>

yeah, i won't cross the friend line unless it's completely natural & feels right. and right now it doesn't.

Just got back yesterday from the holiday madness. I was so excited to see my bed last night. I have the worst time sleeping when I'm not at home. Once again my parents spent entirely too much money on me. I don't know why they feel compelled to spend so much...I know I shouldn't complain, but I just don't want them to feel obligated and...

Work is painful today. There is nothing to do so it is turning into the longest day! The fact that I've got a 9 day vacation starting tomorrow isn't helping matters either. I am soooo looking forward to it. Tomorrow we leave for Eau Claire to see family.

Everyone have a safe and festive holiday!!! kiss

God, I'm normally not up this early but I'm suffering from too-much-sleep-syndrom. Well, most of it was sleeping wink Anywho, I just thought I'd write a few lines before having my chai and jumping in the shower.

Two days left to go at work, counting today, and then I'm off until the 2nd. Which is kind of a laugh, going back for Friday and then off...

Hey, I'm at UWM. Yeah, my HS class had about 300 people. They did the invitation on the web so I can see everyone who has RSVP'd. There are about 10 I care to see. smile But those people I haven't seen for a while so it will be fun, but wierd. It's also at Bar Milwaukee, which is wierd. I never heard of a HS Reunion being in a club.

One less teacher until YOU start teaching. You are needed so go for it! I plan to spend as much time as possible laying around the next few days.

I think I set the record for fastest x-mas shopping yesterday. Granted, not having that many people to buy for helps, but it only took me about two hours! All anyone wanted was gift certificates. Which brings up the question...what really is the point of all this madness. If everyone is just exchanging gift certificates shouldn't we all just keep our money and call it...

I didn't get my butt out of bed until 10:30 this morning. That was when my friend called me to ask why her self-applied dye job had gone bad. I used the same dye you use! said the voice on the phone. I must have sounded pretty awful...I mean, c'mon, I hadn't spoken a word to anyone since midnight the evening before. In fact, I'm...

My dinner isn't until christmas, I was just planning in my head what to cook for people who are not very adventurous from a culinary standpoint.
Do you do your headstands and handstands against a wall? I have heard that moola bhanda helps. I have a friend who has practiced for a while who says she never really accessed the bhandas until she was inverted and then it brought everything into alignment. I can headstand in the middle of the room, but not handstand yet.

LOL! I scare ya? Now why's that? Well, it's cool ta meet another closet fantasy fan, and thanks for the comp on my pics. Cheers ARRR!!!

Just got back from my work x-mas party. I really had a good time. One of the owners hosted the party at her home -- a really cool Frank Lloyd Wright style building (actually a student of Wright was the architecht). This place just oozes style. Plus the owner is an excellent cook, so the party was a success. It'll be nice to sleep in...

I love the holidays but I have a love/hate relationship with the snacking. This entire week has been one huge food fest at work. The sales reps, the contractors and the vendors have been sending a steady stream of candy, nuts, pizza, doughnuts, you name it we've had it. It's nice to be appreciated but this has got to stop. To try and compensate I've...

Somehow I have managed not to gain any weight this holiday season. I'm glad because I just lost 15# and I didn't want to have to do it again. I'm going to a class with a kripalu teacher who is visiting town tomorrow. I hope it's fun, I'm in the mood for fun Yoga. Have you ever heard of Dana Flynn from laughing lotus in New York? She is about the funnest teacher I have taken from. If you ever get a chance DO NOT miss it. It kicked my ass but I was full of joy.
dickiev:
I went to the class today and it was not much different from most other classes. Don't mind me, I get accused of being a yoga nerd all of the time. I just get excited when I finally have somebody to talk yoga with. My cooks certainly aren't into it. Maybe I'll post pics of all my tattoos this week.

God, am I pissed right now. I order a x-mas gift in November for my father, and yes, I ordered it on-line and I should have known it was a mistake when I saw they did not have a phone number to call (deep breath)...So I get home tonight and here's a package containing the wrong item. All I can do is write a nasty...

I can't wait for the new Micheal Moore movie farenheit 9/11. I used to feel self-conscious in almost any class I went to. I eventually just accepted that I suck and started enjoying myself a whole lot more. The thing about taking classes from the celebrity yogis that have been doing it like 25 or 30 years is that you realize how real they are. Most don't act like any kind of celebrity or even expert. Nothing is a big deal to them and they wear it like a loose garment. They also seem to come from a place of lightness and joy. Not the heavy seriousness you would expect. Even if you're in over you head, it's still worth it.
I have been to the Rockabilly weekend thing, but just casually(not paying). It's at the Gold Coast which is just up the street from where I work. I love seeing the cars. There's alot of cool shit that happens in this town that I miss because I'm working or too lazy to go check out.

i work in video production.......nothing rock & roll about that! wink

Jesus, was a tired today. No idea why considering I did absolutely nothing all weekend long. Plus, it doesn't help that work is slow and I spent most of the day struggling to stay busy...which makes for an extremely long day. That's the nature of the biz. I'm either swamped or ... not. Then I went out for Mexican food and it was mediochre (Did...

i'm a fan of conejitos; maybe it's the paper plates, maybe it's the jukebox, or maybe it's those tiny 7oz beers.

My restaurant is called Battista's Hole in the Wall. It's been there 33 years and is right off the strip on Flamingo across from Bally's. I occasionally do a primary series. Can't do some of the poses and my jumps suck but I like it. I take a beginners astanga which spends more time on instruction, a few less postures, still good though. One of my bosses just paid for half my fee for a John Friend Anusura workshop in January. It's pretty cool that she's into yoga as well.

Sunday and I woke up to snow on the ground. I've decided to confine myself to the house for the day and goof around for a change. For once I have a weekend I can enjoy without stressing out about everything I "should" be doing. That almost never happens. I've promised myself that I'm going to actually try and enjoy the holidays this year. biggrin

Thanks for the message. I just moved here too. All last week my boiler was broken and the cheep ass landlords just fixxed it. It's funny you ask I love rockabilly and I just found out about tip top this weekend. The guy that runs the place told me that The Uptown Savages are comming on I think saterday at the power plant. I saw them in Oct at Onopa and they were great. I think the frontman is Johnny-Z, he hosts the chicken shack on 91.7. well I got to run Ill talk to you later

The amazing thing about Light on Yoga (well, one of them) is that they edited thousands of words from it. If you get a chance you should try Bikram. It's an awsome practice, just try not to let the your judgements about the man (or the people who practice it, they can be pieces of work themselves) influence your experience. I'm leaning towards an IYT training in mount madonna California in Ausgust myself. Need to do some more research though. I make a couple of badass indian dishes. My favorite right now is kicheree. It's a yellow mung bean porridge that balances all three doshas. I call my version Richardree. smile

So, I survived last night. I always do this. I want to throw parties, but then I leave all of the details to the last moment. I was a crazy person yesterday but some how managed to get it all done on time. Maybe I just like the whole triumph over adversity thing...I wish I'd knock it off. I had a dinner party for ten....

Want a job? So I was talking to a friend of mine today and we decided we would like to open like a small funky cafe. Specializing in breakfast with a room for yoga upstairs! Just dreamin'. I watched the restaurant and loved it because I'm in the biz and realized that alot of what we saw was what the producer wanted us to see. Rocco has two other successful restaurants in NYC. A miracle in itself. Has a great name for himself. I think he should have been in the kitchen more, and so did his cooks. They are filming a second season so I'm interested to see how is all panned out. I went and did Bikram yoga today. It had been a while. I love that practice. just don't ask me about Bikram himself. smile
