More snow and all I keep thinking about is vacation...somewhere warm. Maybe New Orleans. Anyone ever been there? Any recommendations? I think I'm going to shoot for something in May. A girl has to have something to look forward to. whatever

What happened to Aries?? I get online tonight and I'm like, wait a sec, Missy isn't one of my favs. So I thought it was a glitch but Aries is no where to be found. She must have really pissed someone off huh? Who's got the dish??

I guess Echo will have to be her replacement for now. frown

I was incapable of functioning today. I woke up late, took my shower and then crawled back into bed until 15min before I had to be to work (good thing I set my own hours, huh?). I did finally get there 40 min late, but was pretty useless the rest of the day. I volunteered to help with inventory and then left work early. Bad...

last night was great - that place has the ping-pong table & ralph gave my group a bottle of champagne for the after party - what a guy!
sqook:
Yeah, a lot of people (myself included) liked the old "sqook". Actually, Mya and Synnove refuse to call me "faded" now, which is kind of weird. =) Alas, I'm not going back.

Oh, and I love doing that at work, too.... come in late, push out early... that's the life. =)

So the Pack managed to lose to the Eagles. It turned out to be a typical Packer game. They have a great start, even out in the 2nd, let the other team catch up in the 3rd, and then make it interesting in the 4th. Oh well, I'm dissappointed but as far as I'm concerned the fact that they were there at all was enough;...

Yeah...the Packers are my favorite team. Butttt...Donovan nailed them when he ran it a few times. Eagles deserved to win it...Pack's defense wasn't doing too good.

It was an exciting game -- that's all you can ask. If they had been blown out you wouldn't be as proud of them. At least they lost to a team with fans that aren't afraid of cold weather.

So are you surprised in the tiniest bit that Bush had been planning to overthrow Saddam from day 1 and just used 9-11 as an excuse? I watched the Paul O'Neil thing on 60 Minutes. The other thing that seems apparent is that Chaney is calling all of the shots. GW is a figurehead -- no surprise there either. The only real surpise is that O'Neil genuinely likes Bush & Chaney (still), and during the interview was in disbelief that they would try to attack or discredit him for "just telling the truth."

Yeah -- like this administration is big on the truth!

My city is trying to enact an ordinance to ban picket signs and banners unless they are made of paper ... essentially they are trying to get rid of the anti-war protestors who gather at the pier every week. I'm trying to prepare a zippy little tirade for city council on the subject. They have a session tonight that opens with public comments.

Last night, due to the snow, I opted to stay in and watch a movie. So this is what I want to know...what was the big deal with Chicago the movie? Everyone seemed to think it was so spectacular but I was totally bored. Don't get me wrong, the girls were hot (although I happen to think Zellweger is a bit of a frump) so...

I still haven't seen it. Just not that interested. Saw 21 grams. Good movie but very depressing, had to go home and watch finding Nemo to cheer up a little. Next week a teacher from the tantric college of america in San Francisco is coming for a weekend workshop. I'm probably doing it.

cat litter and a snow scrapper! ah, the days are just packed with fun in the upper midwest!

thanks for the little note about my clipboard solicitor. i agree that it's one of those places i shouldn't end up thinking "what if?" i just like to check myself once in a while--it never hurts ME when i read too much into something innocent, but it can leave the woman kind of uncomfortable.

if it turns into a "good story," you'll have been there at the very inception! if you want to read a really cool story along those lines, take a look at old journal entry of mine.

Well, at least the big chill has let up a little here. I went to yoga class tonight...sometimes I think my teacher is a little sadistic. She is leaving for Arizona in two weeks, so she told us she was going to give us an extra "vigorous" practice. So, 6 Suryanamaskar A's and 6 Suryanamaskar B's later with multiple variations I'm sweating like a hog...

Jesus H Christ it is cold here. I swear each new year feels colder than the last. God, I sound like I'm 80. I definitely feel that old. Seems like everything was going swell until a couple of days ago. I was bad and skipped my usual fitness routine for the last two weeks and now I'm paying for it. I'm all aches and pains...I...

Today was my first REAL day back at work...the whole 8-5. Work is overrated. Too bad money isn't. I need to become less dependent on money...resolution #2. I was doing alright last year with my resolution to stop shopping at the mall. That was actually much easier than I thought it was going to be. I hate malls. Don't get me started...

I am going...

It's snowing like crazy outside. This is the first time I've actually had to shovel the sidewalk all winter. It's sort of nice.

The Packers were able to pull out their first post season game this afternoon which is great...mostly because that means a majority of the guys I deal with on a daily basis will be civil and not big crabs for the rest...

I've been trying to think of what it would be like to come to Las Vegas for the first time. I've live here 25 years and been coming here since I was 9.
The first thing is what are you looking for?
The Palms is the hip place to go for all us youngsters. Cool clubs and restaurants. They have a glass dance floor fifty some stories above the ground. Bellagio and MGM have some of the best restaurants. Ceasars forum is cool for people watching, fashion show mall for shopping. Venetian has tons of restaurants and is a cool place to walk around or take a gondola ride. It's also where madam toussad's wax museum is. Downtown is fun in a kitchy sort of way. Lot's of free stuff there. The best shows are Blue Man and the Cirque shows, O, Mystere and the new one zumanity. Of course you have to eat at least once at the world famous Battista's hole in the Wall, the oldest single owner restaurant in town (That's where I'm chef). You can check out vegas.com for more info and ask me anything. Just about every big hotel has a cool nightclub. Certain ones are better depending on the day of the week. wink

I watched the game and thought about you when they won in overtime. There were two moments I really loved.

One was when the when the Seattle quarterback (I'm not gonna try to spell his name) had such childish glee about over overtime. I'm a Lions fan, so I end up cheering for the other teams in the NFC Norris division, but I kinda wanted Seattle to win just because that guy was so out of control with joy. It's gotta suck to be him and have that moment replayed over and over, followed by the clip of the game-losing fuckup.

When the Green Bay defensive back picked off the pass to win the game -- he knew instantly that he was going to score. That adrenalin rush he had, throwing his arm in the air as he ran down the sideline, is contagious. It's fun to watch. I wish I had that guy's hair.

I'll have to admit, I wanted to puke when the Fox announcer said there are angels watching over the Packers. Isn't it bizarre how people want to pull religion into sporting events. Sorry, the angels don't have time to be concerned with sick and starving, they are making sure Brett Farve wins another football game.

And people wonder why I don't believe in angels!

I need to get warm...I'm a coldy-cat (that's what I'm told anyway). Why I'm living in Wisconsin when I hate the cold is a question I ask myself November thru April every year. But I hate the heat too. I get really cranky (I've been told that too). I'm such a perfectionist.

Today, an exciting schedule of activities...clean the house, do the laundry, wash the...

hi! well, it took me a sec to figure out who shiva8 was, but the racy picture connected all the dots.

nice to hear from someone living in mke but still progressive enough to hang out here. i grew up in waukesha and my parents still live on Pewaukee Lake. i'm now in minneapolis--talk about a stupid cold-weather move, but at least mom and dad "winter" in phoenix so i can visit. where are you from originally? how'd you end up in mke?

hey! seeing you naked again (wink) reminds me--do you have any pics of the back and hip tattoos? for some reason i'm curious....

talk to me!

I LOVE Thai food, but I HATE myself when I eat so much. I liked your New Year's resolution so much I decided to steal it for myself. smile

Thomas Kinkade ... is there anyone more artistic than a guy with a "gallery" in every mall? How can one man be so intensely creative and yet so productive? His paintings are a bargain at $2000 or whatever the hell they charge. Fuck Jackson Pollack ... when did he ever paint a cute little sheep in a barnyard?

I liken movies like "Life as a House" and "Big Fish" to being like Thomas Kinkade paintings of terminal illness. Mayby Thomas Kinkade could hook up with Currier and Ives to make pretty figurines depicting the holocaust, or the recent earthquake in Iran?

Okay -- maybe I get angry and cynical! biggrin

Happy 2004! I spent the eve in Madison with friends, just dinner, drinks and fireworks. Low key but a great change of pace. And I somehow managed to stay resonably sober which I am happy for today. I bought a lottery ticket last night (something I never do) and had a lot of fun fantasizing with my friends about what we were going to do...

What a great resolution. I have heard that if you have a decision to make ask yourself "what would I do if I wasn't afraid?" and there is your answer. My resolution is to achieve my spiritual potential, whatever that means. Oh yeah, and give up caffiene, but not today smile . Your hair looks great. Happy New Year. surreal
