My boss one time bought each of us a new car, and stuffed the trunk full of hand-pulled taffy and homemade wild-boar sausages (made from wild boars that he'd killed himself with a bayonet while vacationing in the Ardenne).
Another time, when he heard me mention over the catered breakfast he'd brought in (we used to do Concept Food Thursdays and have guest chefs) that one of my roomates was sick, he postponed a huge new business pitch in order to go over to my house and bring my roomie a herbal mulled-wine infusion that he'd learned how to brew at his great-grandmother's knee.
