Writing, writing, writing. Still no friends. Well, at least I get to look at hottie SGs & interesting people in the hookups.
I met a girl @ my meditation class. She's really interesting, curvy, purty, nice. We exchanged #s on Wed. I think I might call her tomorrow to see if she wants to go for a coffee or something. I need to get outta...

It's day 9 following my surgery. I got the stitches out yesterday before taking Carter to the police academy for breakfast. He deserved it after taking me to my 8am appointment.
The stitches came out fine and they gave me a referral for physical therapy, which I'm not looking forward to. I'm optimistic since I'm already off crutches around the house. I just can't use...

WE GOT PLAYED ON THE FUCKING RADIO! I don't believe it! My first major airplay. I made the CDs last Monday and I sent one in to Indie 103.1's new music show. They played "The Powers That Be" on "Check 1, 2" last night. The Shards got airplay after having only three shows! I am so happy! I hope we get some more plays. I'm...

I got back from the hospital on Saturday. I had to stay for an extra couple of day's because I had a fever & couldn't piss, both of which are normal. It's cool because I wouldn't have been able to take care of myself around the house anyway.
The knee surgery went perfectly. He was able to repair the cartilege & ligament. There's no arthritis...

The CD is finished and we're mastering it today. We'll have CDs to sell on Monday at the latest. I'm glad it's over and I can get back to writing. I'm really happy with the way it's come out and I hope it does us well.
I'm getting ready for my knee surgery next week. I have to get the house in order & get...

I love you like in a song
falling asleep on the freeway
I love her crooked smile
her eyes always give her away
I made my bed for you
so we could dream together
all curled up in the arms
whispering at daybreak
drifting away
The moonlight is cutting
right through the trees
the city is a jewel
for us to seize
I would take...

Survived another weeknd. Still hoping someone will write me on the this F'n thing. Spent most of the weekend working on mixes with Carter. We almost have the demo finished. We're printing test mixes now and if everything's cool, we'll go ahead with mastering. The nice thing is I can make all the CD copies at work really cheap and they look great.

Today was pretty uneventful. The collection calls don't seem to bother me so much anymore. I was going to go to the gym, but my friend called me up and wants to pay me to encode some tapes in my spare time. I can use the cash since I'm saving up for a new van.
My doc's supposed to call me with more details about...

Thanks a lot for you post. I really appreciate it.
My quitting smoking and narcotics has been part of an attempt to turn my life onto "the right path". It might sound funny, but I've always hated people who were overly health conscious, refused to do drugs, drink or smoke. So I've got a strange aversion to healthy lifestyles. On the other hand, I also acknowledge the important role that my physical health plays in my mental health. I've been neglecting both in a huge way for the last seven years while I was getting my degree. Hell, I even made a seriously active effort to destroy myself phsyically and psychologically.
I've always said I may be crazy, but I'm not stupid. I knew where that lifestyle was leading and I made a choice: I decided to pull my life out of this deadly tailspin. The catch is that I really loathe the idea of becoming one of those damn "health nuts". So I'm trying to figure out where the middle ground is. I've been trying to get back into exercise (squash and inline skating are my favourites), but have been having a hard time at it. I also managed to alienate most of my (psychologically and physically) healthy friends when I went into self-destruct mode, so it's hard to find people with the sort of lifestyle I'm trying to get into.
Anyway, I'm sure you weren't looking for my life story. From the little bit you wrote, your situation sounds awfully similar to mine, so my brain went into "share mode".
Oh, by the way, great choice of movies!

Been working on my band's demo all weekend. We're set up in my apartment and have been doing vocals. I've been poking around SG to keep myself entertained while my friend tweeks the knobs.
Went to downtown to Andrew's last night to watch the game. Ended up staying there until 3 spinning records. Fun. We're going to throw my 33 1/3 party there soon. The...

Just signed up. Was intrigued after making copies of the making of Probot for the director. Got a sticker months ago at a show, but never bothered to check it out. Now that I've taken a gander, I feel 'at home' with 'my people'. I hope this works out. It'll be fun to promote my band, The Shards.
