Ah, the wonders of modern technology.

Hehe....you are too sweet. Yeah, I suppose I didn't need to confess that. Sometimes I just type the random thoughts that come into my head. Those pictures are old. But I didn't intend to be whiny about it. I just feel different. It isn't a big deal. I will have angel envy in no time. wink

It's locking in. We're nailing down crew members and staff. We will have over 200 actors vying for 5 roles. Tough for them, good for me. Well, tough for 195 of them.

We audition next Wednesday, callbacks Thursday. I have promised myself to get the final revision done this evening.

This is usually pretty late for a large revision. I'm not doing a lot of...

Thank you.

All the best with your auditions.

Prior to the Internet's popularity, posting audition notices in NY was a matter of getting the notices into trade papers, waiting for the paper to be printed, then waiting for the post office to deliver resumes.

Now it's a matter of posting notices to the online versions of those same papers and waiting for the email.

Tuesday at 3am I posted our first casting notice...

Ah, yes, it is a study that I must get back to. Those pictures are all quite old. I agree, angles of all sorts are quite important. Not just the ones of the subject but also of the camera.....which give even the 'rotund' ladies more possibilities.

Cheers for more time to do other things. smile

Thank you. blush

Casting notices went out to the trade papers yesterday. It used to be that you would then get hundreds of pix and resumes delivered to your office or answering service. Not it's all via email, which is really great. I think for the last shoot we got several hundred pix for the younger women and several dozen for the older women.

That's attrition in acting....

Addendum ~ I say this as I sit on my couch, drink a beer, watch tv, and surf a porn site. So, you are welcome to ignore me completely.

Mmm....me have a sneaking suspicion we are saying the same thing in different languages.

The balance I speak of, using your mechanic as an example, is when the mechanic is done doing his job *fixing* he goes home, has a beer and spends time with his family. He is not a workaholic, he does not cause problems only to fix them, he does not moan and groan about how things should be bigger or better. He fights the wars that need to be fought, but for the most part he is ok and content. This is the recipe I seek. I suppose I should learn more about cars. Maybe that is the answer.

I also agree with you on the risk-taking/stamina issue.
I enjoy these activities as well.

B/K-F Affair? I cannot cloud my mind with such garbage. I am waithing for the sex tape. Ah, you know there is a sex tape.

Some milestones. All the union documentation ends up at the union and the production insurance is bought. The lawyer is retained, because, as we all know, there can be misunderstandings ...

On our last shoot an actress claimed to have had stolen her wedding and engagement rings. She had removed them and put them in a backpack while on the set. She did not tell...

That's the American circus: family is overrated and lust is underrated. Small towns, overrated. Thinking you deserve better, underrated. Having babies, overrated. Having your own soul, underrated.

I totally get it...Every time i go home, it is a line of girls i grew up with getting married and having babies and scorning me for going after something more. I put my dreams on hold for a while and now I am actually living them...as scary as it can get, I wouldn't trade my life right now for anything. I know that there is so much more to life than even I will ever experience. I just go with the flow and enjoy the ride.

Production meeting tonight. I picked up the certified check for production insurance today, and I have a teleconference with the cinematographer at 2pm LA time saturday.

I still don't have the "it's-starting-to-lock-in" feeling, which I assume I will get when I have some more key personnel on board, as well as signed actors.

I should get in the habit of taking pix. Up to now...

The movie I'm working on now is called "Essence," and is an excerpt from a feature-length screenplay entitled "Mrs. Benning's Vagina."

It's about 2 teenage boys in the 70s who discover and older couple who place erotic passion at the base of their beliefs, making it -- not mystical faith in an impaled martyr -- the source of their ethics and spirituality.

It's part of...

Very nice, interesting what you can do nowadays with technology. I am almost completely computer retarded though, so Shake on the Mac could very well be Chinese to me. This stuff fascinates me though (I suppose cause I know so little about it), so I can't wait to see what you come up with.

Is it humorous in a funny (haha) kind of way, or humorous in an ironic kind of way?
jody:
Glad you liked it. smile

The Screen Actors Guild gets its paperwork this week. Basically that's my budget and schedule. SAG has different contracts for different-sized projects. When your project is approved, they give you a production number and a business rep.

The business reps at SAG are very professional. I worked with SAG before and with Actors Equity (the stage actors union) in NYC for years. They've gotten better...

Cool.....What is your movie about?

Why thank you very much. Yeah, this is my first attempt at using MySpace. I never, ever, ever wanted one but it is the easiest way to communicate with The Mercs, the band I have been shooting. I figured since I was on there I should see if any good could come of it. We shall see.
I am glad you like my work.

Yay, pictures! Ummm....well picture....cool.

Thanks a bunch for the kind comment and the friend request.
There are about a gazillion more shots on my pics page. Enjoy.

I'm still scouting locations in Yonkers. In the meantime I'm still compositing my last film (there was a lot of greenscreen work in it) and doing the special effects for a feature that just wrapped last month.

I should post pictures but then I would have to reach across my desk.
lizardam:
<~~ Wants pictures.

I write this.

It is a comic novel in blog form. It has been around since 2003.

This is the latest chapter, written by the character "Barry Fest."
