long time no freakin "hey yo ya doin".. so hey.. how ya doin?

on the small camera... gotta tell ya, do it, it's fun. I finally, just a week or two ago, gave in and did it. Always thought "I should get a good, small digicam.. but I could spend that money on a lens!".. not until my birthday a few weeks back did I give in.. we were at a bar w/ a bunch of peeps and my brother's fiance whips out her like $200 kodak p+s and I played w/ it in some and realized, screw it.. Imma do it.

Picked up a Canon S80. So far, very happy.. it's the higher-ish-end of their small p+s line.. Over all, love it. I'll warn you on the two down sides, #1 -- max iso of 400, #2 -- no RAW. Those two put together kinda suck, but for the shooting I do it's really not THAT BIG an issue... except for concerts... but, I can drag out the big gear for that. Quick "snaps" (with flash), or well lit shots (even a decent macro) at low iso.. nice, works.

The last year for me was a dodgy one at best. Fortunately things look like they are getting better and better as I go forward into 2006. Whew...just got done hanging all my pieces for the GALACORINA art show that I am part of this year. It's a very big deal and i am so glad i got in. Those of you local should make it a point to come out and support your local arts community.

Whee.. yeah, I didn't enter. This last year or so's been hectic in many annoying and often bad ways, so I realized if I submitted anything it'd probably be old stuff, which kinda feels like a cop out when you've already been in it a few times wink ..

Other friend = a female photog. Petite blond. Don't want to post her name here, will email you. Met her + her hubby the first year I did the Gala (he was in it that year.. he's a bizarre but bad ass painter/drawing type guy, she's a photog).. so hopefully that's a good thing for you going into the gala, 2 people that I've kept up w/ since meeting 'em 2 yrs ago at the show.

book thing? i'm interested in doing any and everything. i've decided i need to commit myself to this thing a bit more, and made a few "life decisions" to help make that happen. if you have any project at all you think i might be helpful/suited for, lemme know, i'm in.
