Hey my puppy took a shit outside today too...I'm still so proud of her. She's almost a year old (may 1). Though when I first got her..I thought she'd never learn. So I told her she had to be housebroken and prove that she wasn't a stupid dog by her 1st birthday or I was getting rid of her. Seems harsh...but they were just words of frustration...I could never really get rid of Madeline...I love her too much. She's 1/2 boston terrier 1/2 miniature dachshund....so a weenie dog with longer legs and not floppy ears...I call them airplane ears. So..she's housebroken..and can do tricks...and is just wonderful..and isn't a stupid dog afterall. 
(she's alot smarter than her sisters..though my friends wouldn't like it very much if they knew I said that)
