God Damn! It feels good to be angry about something again!

I don't know how many of you have heard about this, but there's a proposal bouncing around in Parliament to introduce an ISP level Internet filter in Australia. Basically this means that some factions of the government (the Family First Party, lead by proxy by Labor Senator Stephen Conroy) want to place immovable blocks...

I agree with you. This is disgusting that the government thinks they can do it. I can understand where the thought has come but in reality it won't work. My thoughts were regarding eating disorders. So they will block sites to stop they from happening when they could stop someone from receiving help.

Bug reports for Life 1.0:

* GUI is inconsistant. Some windows and clients are gorgeous, however these are often obscured by ugly, focus-stealing bugs.

* Communication is buggy. Too many clients written in different languages or running on incompatible architecture makes communication between clients so unreliable as to be pointless.

* System behaviour is erratic and unpredictable. Crashes happen too frequently and upgrades rarely deliver...

Can you please write an undo function for me? I'd utilise it often.

...Too often.

As for change, I'm a simple creature. I like what I know and I love what I like.

Send me a message about tonight, yeah? I don't know what time I'll be meeting-free, but if it at a reasonable hour (around 6ish most likely) I'll swing on by!

So, today's the big day. The assignment I've been working on for the past thirteen weeks is due in by 4pm.

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
I still have a little more work to do on it, one last line edit, before I hand it in. Today's edit will pretty much just be a 'comma-watch' as my editor puts it. She's picked up how comma-happy I...

Oh man!

I just found out that two financial windfalls I've been waiting on have hit my account at the same time. Normally this is a very good thing...but now I have enough hard cash to go out and buy a new laptop.

How the Hell am I supposed to concentrate on my assignment now!

I had a moment of clarity last night that's got me thinking about life and choices and consequences this morning.

Last night I thought about being 33, being homeless, enrolled in a BA, tattooed and pierced in odd places, being childless and single and dating girls significantly younger than myself.

This morning I've been thinking about not having a plan for a future that is...

Everything in your life is as it should be because it is your life - intended to be lived by no one else by you; a path upon which no one else treads but you. Annnnd you have the strength, insight, courage, humour and wisdom to face any patches of shadowy introspection. Particularly the weighted societal kind...

But I gotta admit, I hear ya. It's something worth considering.

I consider the choice of non-choice as addressed in the book, 'Wonder Woman: the myth of having it all'...I am aware that if I keep choosing art and jobs over following this man that maybe, quite possibly maybe, I am non-choosing a choice that will be one fork of the road or the other. And maybe I really can't have it all.

Man, this is a Sunday afternoon drinking conversation. I wish I had a coldie.

Thought it was about time I told you all how awesome the Butterfly Effect gig wasn't.

The first support band, Sleep Parade, were probably the highlight of the night, and when you can say that...

The second support act, Trial Kennedy, just came off like a pack of assholes with their on-stage antics, spitting and shit.

When the headliners came on, if I didn't already...

I'm not a Butterfly Effect fan, but I think it's brilliant that they license out their releases to the labels that carry them and retain all the rights and own the master tapes. How un-punk of me. tongue

Hope you're doing well!
kye:
I thought the highlight of the night was my company, not Sleep Parade. Or, the ice cream!
That said, Sleep Parade were rather good. Which, I can't really compete with!

Was a lovely night out. Thank you. Thinking of hitting the town for some dancing one night. You keen on finding a pub and rockin' out to some Matchbox 20 and other fun tracks with me?

OK, Assignment break-time again.

I just set up my new blog and, as promised, I'm giving y'all the links, so you can keep tabs on me (if you should be bored enough to want to)...

My house-sitting blog.

My new random articles blog.

My regular Twitter account

My new 'Rookmarks' Twitter account.

I think that's about it. I'll try to keep in...

Jesus, I'm such a dweeb!

I've spent the majority of today working on the assignment that's due next week. As an incentive, I promised myself that if I worked until I reached a certain goal, I'd stop for a while and I could do whatever I wanted.

I reached that goal about two and a half hours ago and settled in to enjoy my free-time....

I have a pc problem that is beyond me.

Windows will not boot.

Gah.

P.S. You're still the finest example of single, geek-boi I know.

That is super geek! And not great for singledom. When you start lube-ing up the keyboard and rubbing yourself on it then I'm really going to start to worry!

Hello lovelies.

Sorry it's been so long since my last update (because I know you all just hang on my every word, right?!) Life's been pretty full lately, both online and in the real world, but now it's time for a catch-up.

This is going to be quite a long post; I'll bold key words so you can skim it.

In the real world I'm...

Good to hear everything's going well. Living by yourself is the way to go. Not sure how much longer I'll be able to keep it up with rent increases on the way though.

How much longer do you have with uni? I'm slowly getting used to the idea that I won't be a student at the end of the month. I'll check out your blogs when I'm done with project1 crits though.
kye:
Hearts. Really, really big ones.

I had a lovely night, although enjoyed Sleep Parade more than The Butterfly Effect. Alas.
And bacon. Everything should come with a side order of bacon.

I splurged today and bought a wireless keyboard and mouse combo. I don't really have the money to spare, but I justified it by thinking about how much more Uni work I'll get done with the convenience it brings. My laptop is connected to the big-screen TV and tucked neatly away under the entertainment unit. The entire lounge-room is now my computer desk.

I'm all...
